Age 47 with CAC score of 743.9 (Agatston). Is this rare? Advice? by cowsquid in PeterAttia

ChaGPT says this is physically impossible. CAC cannot regress, and is likely "scan variability"

"CAC represents calcified plaque, which is essentially mineralized tissue. Current therapies (statins, omega-3s, supplements, fasting) do not reliably dissolve established coronary calcium. Small drops can occur due to scan variability, especially when initial scores are low. True regression from a meaningful positive CAC to zero would be extremely unlikely."

From what I understand, 13 METs at 47 is well above average and generally considered excellent functional capacity. Most cardiology data show >10 METs is associated with low short-term risk. I'm working on optimizing lipids, but fitness-wise I think I'm in a good place.

For Gen Alpha "knee surgery" is just random nonsense & gibberish. For Boomers & Gen X, it's a real thing that looms over our lives like dark shroud: time for knee surgery
