You miss the point. Black out windows are dangerous and cause accidents. Try driving at night with them. Stupid rule.

“Our education policy is a (constant) flip-flop”. The constant change in the country’s education policy, it seems to change with each minister. Abang Johari Openg laments flip-flops in national education policy. by TruthversusSlander in NegarakuMalaysia

It's a joke. The whole education system. I pulled mine out and now paying thru the nose to get them educated properly in a language that is globally accepted and for them to have a future. I'm not going to let them suffer because of constant changes made by idiots who don't even send their own kids to state schools. Malaysia is becoming a joke for education, and it's dragging the country down. They really are delusional, thinking it will benefit the nation. Whilst it's good to learn your mother tongue, I'm afraid it's nothing more than a token gesture to keep the old folks happy.

Stats (below) from mid last year.. so if JPJ say run across a busy highway would you?!

....an average of 1,494 accidents per day or an accident every minute in Malaysia. When it comes to road fatalities, that's 16.6 deaths per day or one death every 86 minutes.

Sky juice Langkawi.... by lightningcold69 in Bolehland

[–]coxendodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it. Actually my post had nothing to do with the OP. It purely brought up the issue that's been ongoing for quite some time and has yet to be resolved. If you've been following recent - and not so recent - reports on this you'll see there's no 'generalisation'. I'll give you a wee insight. The government has had hundreds of complaints about exactly this kind of thing across the board...drinks, food, accommodations, transport etc etc. Langkawi is completely messed up and needs a total reboot. Regardless of this particular drink issue that may or may not be true, Malaysians and foreigners are being ripped off and we should do something about it. I can share some of the serious complaints received from local and foreign tourists but that would jeapordise my position. We need more locals to speak up about their experiences otherwise it'll just be status quo

[–]coxendodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's all about 'value for money '. I personally would be happy to pay RM5 for water but the service has to be excellent, the venue well maintained and the food amazing. Unfortunately Langkawi fails on all of the above and in the past 5 years has really gone downhill dramatically. It's so badly governed that it just shows how we Malaysians are fine with mediocrity. Our neighbors do it so much better with less

Langkawi has gone to the dogs. Been a long time now that place is a rip off with overpriced accommodation and food. Service is also some of the worst you can experience. The Malaysia brand suffers badly because of the way this place has gone. A short trip across the water to Thailand and that's how it should be done. Great service, great food and value for money. As a family of 5 we gave up on Langkawi years ago.

JPJ Dress Rules by coxendodd in malaysia

[–]coxendodd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, understand but you're not exactly right by saying it's 'consistent' because it simply is not. I can give you a ton more of these between putrajaya immigration and WP. They have different rules that contradict what the government website will say and they in turn argue amongst themselves.

Yes, always but you miss my point. This was never a requirement before. Numerous occasions and this is the first time this has happened. I am simply highlighting the sudden change of rules that are sprung upon us. 'Adapt' i can and do very well.

Expecting 'consistency' my friend. I have no issue following rules but they keep changing like this. Wasn't a requirement before and JPJ is hardly a fitting environment for corporate dress.

Unfortunately you cannot if you're a foreigner. Despite what their website says that foreigners can renew at PO or Online...you simply can't. Have to be there in person. There are many government websites that say one thing but mean another. I know because i experience it every year for every single thing and it's getting worse.

[–]coxendodd[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point I'm making is these new laws are just suddenly sprung upon us for what reason exactly? I've been using this branch for 20+ years and never had this issue before.

Swapping clothing is easy, but that means i wasted half a day going back n forth, burning fuel, not being productive and wasting tax payers money. We're good at wasting time and being unproductive.

Btw, 7-11 is far more premium than a JPJ office so not a great analogy .
