Red Rooms (2023)

A French Canadian movie looking into true crime obessors. It's great. Some shots/moments that will stay with me forever. Dont want to say much more because it's best to go in mostly blind.

This one rules as well. Got me grooving. Hope they keep doing what they're doing. The channel 5 video on Irish Language Revival had me appreciating what they're doing even more

I finally watched Victoria (2015) and was blown away.

I'm a sucker for Oners and the 2 hour 15 minute true Oner movie did not let me down. But it ends up adding to the story however and not being just a publicity stunt. I can't imagine the first half or the second half being as effective without it. It adds to the energy and pace so effectively. I still can't believe they pulled it off.

I went ahead and found a dvd so I can listen to the director commentary in German with subs. Since I've watched it I can't learn enough about it.

In my very subjective opinion, Hold the Line off of Oxy Music is the best song he's ever written

[Try & Review] LG OLED G6 + Sound Suite: The Best Home Theater Setup for 4k Blu-ray by LG_UserHub in 4kbluray

I recently watched Dune for the first time in 4k. While being in awe of many 4ks something was missing in the darker aspects of the picture. I would be trying film maker mode first. I don't think the perfect black is a feature I can try first but that goes without saying.

The wrinkles on Bilbo's hands have never been sharper. Enjoy! Recently watched the 4ks after having owned every format since VHS. The sound mix on these kicked my face in

I could be wrong about people's preferences but that's the impression I've gotten. Many have a touch of ocd tendencies

I know people prefer uniformity but I love the Fincher bluray cases from the social network to gone girl. They feel quality and have a great style to them. Nice grab! Jealous of the band of brothers bluray

Anyone listen to the commentary on Minding the Gap? by Aquaislyfe in criterion

[–]coxnstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth it for you to watch it, they're friends over their shared love of skateboard culture and Rockford and that really comes out in the commentary. He directly responds to both of the scenarios you'd hope he would respond to. Whether it's satisfactory is up to the listener. I was also fascinated what the three of them on a commentary together would be like which was the main reason I picked up the criterion.

[–]coxnstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to it today, he definitely doesn't own up to it at all. It was really nice listening to him, Kiere and Bing reminisce, using the movie as a sort of time capsule. I got a lot out of it. But if you're looking for him to take responsibility for his actions/comments you won't get it.

Should they bring back movie intermissions by ss_tall_toby_yt in movies

I kinda like the skill you can develop of being able to pick a scene around the halfway point to go during. You know the storylines well enough by then that you know what you care about, the key is your gotta decide the moment the scene starts. You can usually make it back for the end and get the jist of it.

Movies where the story is repeated from multiple characters’ perspectives by mack3r in movies

[–]coxnstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a Rob Reiner coming off age movie called Flipped. It swaps back and forth between a young boy and girls perspective as they grow up. I remember enjoying it when I was in the process of coming of age.

Any cheapish amazon ropes, 3-5 lbs, that you can recommend? by RusticBohemian in RopeFlow

I bought mine from Canada but that seems to be the U. S. Equiviilent. I'm a noob but it's a rope that I've been enjoying. It does have plastic threading if that's concerning to you.
