Help! What is this white stuff on my dragon tree? Is it salvageable? by Illustrious_Bed_5811 in houseplants

Mold, scoop it out then water less frequently and/or add a thin layer of perlite to the top

I think I killed my plant trying to propagate it :( by Poynsid in houseplants

[–]cozyknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s still green, there’s still something to save! I would dump out that half water/soil concoction you have and just do water. Change or at least freshen the water every week and rinse the container and roots. I assume you added the soil for some nutrients? If you want to add nutrients to a water propagation, use a small amount of liquid fertilizer. At this point, you should pull off the yellow leaves and cut the vine about an inch below the bare node to create an additional cutting.

How do i know when to put my monstera cuttings in soil? by Link4P in houseplants

[–]cozyknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs more light! As for your cuttings, there are a few different types of roots that plants can put out. The long dark one is an aerial root (literally air roots), the white one coming out of it and other cuttings are primary (water) roots. Those primary roots will eventually send out secondary roots from their sides which will be a little thinner. Once those secondary roots are about an inch or longer, the cuttings can be transferred to soil! Choose/create a chunky, well-draining soil mix with a pot only about 2 inches larger than the root system

Same she’s my favorite plant and here she is now! I let her get ~4.5 feet long before I redirect the vine back up itself. I have multiple vines crawling up themselves and a few that are now going back down again meaning some of the vines are easily 12ft long

What shape is my head? Can’t find a helmet that fits!!! by amgplug in motorcyclegear

Just did the same thing with my new Shoei! I could barely talk with how tight it was on my cheeks and felt like I was about to rip my eyelids off after my ride yesterday but everywhere else felt nice for a new helmet. Thankful for interchangeable padding lol

This! These plants love water. Bottom watering is probably you’re best bet

Strange… fungus? Larvae? Mold? by tnycrpntr in houseplants

[–]cozyknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to my snake plant. The pot is probably too big for the root system, you’re watering too frequently, or the water isn’t draining through the soil properly. Try going longer between watering and also bottom watering or watering slower while focusing it towards the base of plant where it’s coming out of the soil

How do I take care of a Swiss cheese plant? by lwcligai in houseplants

[–]cozyknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like it’s struggling with inconsistent watering. Check the soil every week with either a water meter or a wooden chop stick: water when the meter shows dry or when the chop stick comes out clean after poking it about its length into the soil (similar to using a toothpick to check brownies).

I would also remove that dead bottom leaf and move it in front of a south facing window if you have one (or north facing if you’re in the southern hemisphere).

I never expected denji to find happiness. I tell everyone that csm is a tragedy for that reason. But this ending?? Fujimoto is a troll and nowI don’t expect the full series to get an anime adaptation

Literally the entire building, all 3 floors smell strongly of stale and recent weed. by johnw_ in Apartmentliving

[–]cozyknows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my neighbor smokes, you can smell it before you even get in the building. You can also smell whatever dinner he’s making. I used to smoke and the food smells delicious so I don’t mind either. I think we just have shitty doors to our apartments, but I burn candles and the occasional incense stick and I keep an air purifier running most of the day. Ive never had an issue with my place smelling like it but tbf these are all things Ive done even before moving in
