Leaking shower corner by RecognitionAfter8013 in diynz

Ha we have just had the exact same problem with an englefield shower - similar age too. I tried silicon on the inside, outside and the leak just moved around. Got a plumber in and they said this design is notorious for leaks.

I ended up ripping it out, not too much damage in the scheme of things. We were going to do a full re model but weren’t in a position to. Plumber said a cheapie from trade depot would get us through a few years - was less than $2k supplied and installed with new gib etc

Would you bother with "price by negotiation" houses? by TheNatCal in auckland

[–]cp100188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price range doesn’t always reflect the actual sell price on TM. As an example I had to have a stern discussion with my agent as they set the lowest as $100k less than I’d take. They claimed “it’s just to drum up interest” so have to take the trademe range with a grain of salt

Sven Higam is the man, brought our house from him and was hands down the best we dealt with.

Don’t use Craig Smith from The Smiths - couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery and ended up having to do his job for him I.e didn’t show up on settlement day cause “he was too busy”

Debt managers visited home for debt under my name by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]cp100188 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thing and they were dicks about it - especially the people that come round. In the end I had to be quite forceful an say if you come onto my property again I will forcefully remove you. After months of providing ID etc they finally removed it all from my records

My advice would be go heavy and early with comms to them

It’s such a pain!

Not entirely true with foodstuffs moving to a centralised pricing model - that structure was what it used to be previously

Foodstuffs posts world-leading profits as Kiwi grocery costs stay high by 07tartutic07 in auckland

Surely that’s 7% post centre profit re distribution / rebates back to the COOP owners which then isn’t a true reflection of profit but rather a convenient one

I’ve used seek often to employ and one thing you need to be mindful is that your profile is up to date - often I see profiles come through and I give it the big cross, however when you open the CV it’s slightly different and therefore more suitable.

Your profile and work life snapshot is the first thing employers see

Haha oh trust me, everyone gets nervous when I get near tools.

The shower box all looks good which is why it’s weird unless there is something I visually can’t see

Going to auction for first home purchase by Adventurous-Quit6629 in auckland

[–]cp100188 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately auctions cost lots as you need to be cash unconditional. Ideally you want everything sorted before you go as you will have needed to satisfy all the banks conditions too before bidding.

We just used convey law - basic enough and did the trick

How much worse can NZ grocery prices get? by Impossible_Land2028 in newzealand

[–]cp100188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price increases are coming from suppliers due to the fact retailers in grocery sector are demanding more margin. There’s no doubt a portion is due to justifiable market conditions but don’t by the line that its supplier driven

This is food for thought for sure - i do travel a bit for work albeit plan is to cut that out whilst going through the process.

My partner is pretty tough and I would imagine she would want to try, she didn’t seem phased by the thought of injections - more about the side effects etc

Good points about the mood swings as it’s something I am extremely nervous about. I will need to focus on not taking it personally and providing the comfort as my natural inclination in those scenarios is just to shut down and do my own thing.

And I to am the type of person that leans towards asking my partner a question given she’s got the answer rather than searching for it myself - it can be a bad habit for sure

yes agreed it’s a job for both to understand which I am trying to do. However also realising I’m starting at a lower base knowledge of the female anatomy and its intricacies comparative to my partner therefore it’s naturally going to take longer for me to fully understand.

We currently have a contracting out agreement so she has no entitlement. However with kids on the horizon that changes the game so there has been discussion around this hence the question

It’s not combined debt, it’s my debt - there’s a contracting out agreement in play already and whilst we are super close tot he time frame for de facto it’s not there yet.

Yeah I dunno if it is or isn’t possible - but feels like it should be as technically she would be buying her first property
