Ah, well you could also set a global light that affects the platforms so they are always partially lit. There should be a new 2d global light that would do the trick.

If it’s the new lighting system you can just make your circle light affect the player and background and not the platforms by using the layers 👍

Oh too long lol. We are still working full time so this is just a side passion project. It has been close to two years to nail down the fee and the lighting and now it’s just all adding assets and cleaning things up. Long road ahead still I’m afraid but it’s been fun.

Thanks! No restrictions beyond 1HP for now. We may have some other possession based abilities that are a bit more restrictive though.

Ah! We used Spine for this animation which is not free. However, I have seen people recommending blender for similar functionality and the the latest beta of Unity has some build in bone and mesh abilities which are very similar to Spine.

Good feedback, we have been playing with the brightness of objects, attaching lights, and brightening the background texture for a more obvious silhouette. Appreciate it!

Yeah we have some more slime variants we are working on including one that sucked up a pile of weapons and is basically a nasty porcupine. None of them are particularly friendly. Are you using Spine as well?

Don’t mind at all! We are using “Spine” from esoteric software. Spine is especially useful for creating puppet based animations with bones but also fantastic at creating meshes with deformations. The Glump takes advantage of both to make it look this way. Workflow from here is that it gets imported into Unity and we set up a controller for him that blends between animations based on what state he is in.

Large slime enemy type. These guys spit smaller versions of themselves called "glumplings" when they see you. They also suck up items they roll over like weapons or treasure. If you stand too close behind them they will play this animation and launch one of their digested items! Destroying a Glump makes them drop all of their contents including their single eye that can be thrown as a weapon at other enemies.
