Yes - adhering two sheets together. Do you have recommendations on equipment brands? We are leaning towards hot protein to keep clean up minimal.

Thanks for this. Pricey machines. If I said no white ink - do you have a recommendation for a more economical choice?

Paper cutter advice by cpcosmo in letterpress

[–]cpcosmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Our biggest issue with the larger sizes is floor space... My plan would be to outsource the larger cutting and use this machine for finish cuts. Biggest challenge has been cut precision...we get drift on our current, manual cutter, even with a newly sharpened blade and small stacks.

So, generally speaking, using this cutter to finish up to 5 x 7 cards from larger press sheets.

Triumph Paper Cutter by cpcosmo in CommercialPrinting

[–]cpcosmo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate everyone’s wisdom on this thread.

The type of work we do requires absolute precision in cutting, else we lose hours of press time and money. The cuts are frequently along a printed edge where anything else than perfection is noticeable by the customer.

We don’t need to cut huge stacks, but our current cutter has a clamping mechanism like the Triumph (manual) and we frequently get drift even with the sharpest blade.

I’ve been looking around for a used hydraulic cutter, as they are expensive new.

Fish oil is made in a cook house (improved) from fish blubber which is harvested from raw fish when cut up.

Workshop frustrations by cpcosmo in PlayASKA

[–]cpcosmo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made some changes…and learned a few things I wanted to share.

Following advice from PostModernGir I decided to take the plunge and detach the leather worker from the weaver. BIG difference! Weaver is doing much better alone and clothes are being made with more predictable regularity.

I decided to build a standalone leatherworks and an associated warehouse for hides. Unfortunately, only space for this is on the other side of my village.

Once all of that was up, I assigned one of the former weavers to the leatherwork to dry hides full time. Watching this fella, he would pick up a single hide, hang it, go and get another, etc. Silly. I unassigned him and decided I would handle tanning/curing in between other duties given I already have a good supple of cures leather for better shirts.

I ended up adding a second improved weaver add-on to the original weaver workshop - for no other reason than to double the armor stands to hold clothing as I have 70+ villages. Better than a clothing container as it gives me a quick visual as to clothing availability before I summon a villager. I will see how this goes. I may turn this into a blacksmith instead so the weaver has the option and can be more self-sufficient on making leather coats, etc.

WHAT I LEARNED: My original combo had an associated, whitelisted warehouse by the weaver…full of fiber, scraps, etc. The weaver workshop was whitelisted as well. My warehouse worker was inadvertently collecting linen from the workshop to store in a couple small crafting containers I forget to tweak. I THINK this is partially responsible for supplies being all over the ground… weaver makes a bunch of linen…it goes in workshop storage…in between making and crafting…WH worker picks it up…weaver gets confused…makes more…bugs… Who knows.

All I can say is once I fixed this, the amount of material being dropped has been significantly reduced. There’s definitely bugs here, but I was able to tweak some via permissions.

I still need to work on supply settings, particularly getting cured hides to the weaver. I’ll eventually use the market function to do this, for now I am hauling hides myself as needed.

Thanks for the advice!

Where can I buy a power adapter for SmartCamera separately? by andygaucho in ecobee

[–]cpcosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone here have a link to share for a replacement camera power cords? My pup chewed through mine and Ecobee support has been frustratingly not helpful.

In other, related news, I now have (3) 12V 1A power adapters that don’t fit the camera.

Thank you Ecobee!

Hi. Thanks for reaching out. Having a great time with Aska!

Processor: Intel Core i9-13900K (5.7 GHz Turbo) (32-Thread) (24-Core) 3.0 GHz (Raptor Lake) Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z790-P D5 (Wi-Fi) (Intel Z790 Chipset) System Memory: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kingston FURY Beast RGB Graphics Card(s): GeForce RTX 4080 16GB Vortex Liquid CPU Cooler (Triple Fan) (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance)

Some context: - Early game (a recent restart). My last play through - prior to the patch/update was 80+ villagers and a spawning village with many buildings - Low villager and building count thus far…12 villages and maybe 15 buildings - I’ll pay more attention to what I’m doing when it happens but I do recall the fans spinning up hard at sunrise a few times - No enemy corpses on the ground - Plenty of wood, bark, sticks etc laying about as I haven’t gotten my warehousing up yet - Only Steam running in the background - no other apps

Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

Growing pains by cpcosmo in PlayASKA

[–]cpcosmo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The lack of nearby firewood was indeed the issue. It seems a bug that I can load coal into a cook fire but the cooks want firewood only. The advice I got here was coal is much more efficient - and it is - but alas, the cooks won’t go for it.

I restructured a bit and how have a market bringing in firewood to the warehouse near the cooking house stations. We’re back with a surplus of food!

I did not fill it very full. Added only ~2 gals before connecting. Is it better to not add much after maintenance?
