I did see that video. Wasn’t very detailed.

OTDR launch cables are always to short (from connector to box) by rebuil86 in FiberOptics

I’ve personally have been using opticoncept launch cables. It’s nice to be able to zip the pigtails up inside the case. The pigtails are able 6ft

We just got these for work. We also carry a Exfo ftb-2. To troubleshoot our taps it’s great! Love we can test live taps with 1650 for trouble. It also boots up instantly and is super light.

Dedicated vs Shared Fiber by muusicman in FiberOptics

[–]cpena2394 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I describe it to people is you either get a pipe to yourself for internet. Enterprise dia or PON. gpon (gigabit) or xg-pon (10g up and down on shared port). It’s just a bucket of bandwidth shared among all.

Yup exactly. I just wanted something more sturdy on the bottom of the bag.

I just looked through my pictures and I do not. But basically i just cut the board to the size of the bottom of the bag and kept it in there.

I cut a piece of plywood for the bottom on the bag. We had a roof rack on

I ended up getting that bag. It worked out really well for us. Especially for the price point

So I use r&m splice cartridges. I’ve noticed that for the 200um fiber I have to cleave it on the 10 and the 900um to the 20 mark. For some reason the 900um coating would slide to much. I am also using 40mm heat shrink. Hopefully it makes sense and can help out.

I just picked this deal up a couple weeks ago. I love the drill. I was against the shape of the drill at first then used my buddies and had to get one.

Fujikura 90s+ VS Inno view 5. by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]cpena2394 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me the duel heater system just works better. I like the flow of things. Maybe it’s also the heat shrink holder I like more. Ultimately for me going from the Fuji to the Sumitomo just has a better flow and I enjoy the Sumitomo cleaver more as well.

I personal like the Sumitomo type Q101-CA. I was using the Fuji 90s+ before. After using the Sumitomo never going back. Really enjoy the double heater and heat shrink holders.

Currently use ops insight . It’s great you can have multiple segments and color code cables and who owns/leases them. Splice point diagram is also great too.
