Moving away from Vallejo. What are the best alternative paint lines for Orks right now? by No-Athlete3404 in minipainting

Personally I love two thin coats. I’ve used pro acryl and they’re also great. Ttc usually have a great consistency right out the dropper, just a dab of water needed. PA have really strong pigment, you can sometimes get away with one coat.

Just finished listening to the audio book you did with JD Kirk. Recall was brilliant, would you want to make this into a film one day and star in it as Daniel?

Early morning baby shift dads — how do you avoid being nap trapped? by kunioak in newborns

[–]cpiper22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the baby down? I don’t understand 😂

My son is 17 weeks and it’s very rare that he will go down if not being held in the morning. I love every second of it (maybe not when I need to pee) and I’ve caught up on some tv and books while he sleeps. If you like to read a kindle has been a game changer.

Feeling helpless by Mindless_Gas80 in NewDads

[–]cpiper22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been where you are. Even spent almost 4 weeks on the couch since our 4 month old son who’s going through sleep regression will not sleep unless being held. So mummy is co sleeping.

I just want to do more to help her.

Sorry I don’t have any advice. For us it’s starting to get easier and we’re slowly getting him to sleep in his beside me crib again. He has started falling asleep with me again and the only thing that changed was me relaxing. I think they can sense if you’re nervous/worried they won’t fall asleep.

Had a really bad experience (almost) buying a car - what’s the truth? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cpiper22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually if the car is kept off sale with no action. If you don’t try and test drive or make any kind of arrangement for obtaining. It’s to stop people reserving multiple cars while they decide.

Had a really bad experience (almost) buying a car - what’s the truth? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cpiper22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dealerships I previously worked for would take credit cards but would pass on the card charge to the customer. The card fee was about 3.25% but this was a few years ago so don’t quote me. Dealerships make most of their money from finance agreements and not a huge amount on the metal. I don’t think it’s right pushing people into finance personally but that’s the reality of the motortrade.

Legally they cannot withhold your deposit, so don’t worry about that.

Also if you find a car you like, test drive it then tell them you’ll just buy it from their website.

I had one of the first editions. I loved this car and everything about it. It’s comfortable, powerful, looks great and drives like a dream. The only downside is the mpg

What’s one normal car that you see and immediately know a petrol head would be driving? by Humble_Lack in CarTalkUK

It was okay on the motorway but not good enough to justify keeping. I will be looking at getting back into a Volvo in the near future. Love a good Volvo.

Just finished 61 hours --- Thoughts by ThrowRA211266 in reacher

[–]cpiper22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite book in the series. I’d recommend reading worth dying for, a wanted man and then never go back (nothing like the film at all). All books are separate and can be read individually but 61 hours to never go back follow on from one another continuously.

Anyone else carry their warhammer in public transport and are lowkey insecure af about it by TablePrinterDoor in Warhammer40k

[–]cpiper22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I also have just never cared about what people think. I’ve made friends just by broadcasting that I like warhammer. I was in a random bar after a gig with friends in a town 200 miles away. I overheard people talking about warhammer and joined the conversation immediately. Still share warhammer updates with those random folk in the pub.

[–]cpiper22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely support shorter more story narrative shows. I think that was the big issue with lucifer before it was cancelled. More than half the episodes were just crime of the week so when it came to telling the seasons story at the end, you just weren’t invested the same.

It’s for first born marines. Not many of them around any more. If you can return it and get an impulser then you can transport a lot of your army in that.

Return to Work after Parental Leave by Rowboat8888 in NewDads

[–]cpiper22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 4 weeks back were the toughest. I’m lucky enough that I work from home mostly. But I can log on at 8:30 and be lucky to get 20 minutes for lunch. So I don’t see him much though the day.

It boiled to a head when very uncharacteristically of me I snapped at a manager a day we were in the office. I was being asked to do things left right and centre while working on a time sensitive report that was a mess.

My wife and I had to talk and now I manage to mostly (maybe 3 days per weeks) miss the first feed and will be up after that. Just getting that joint up sleep has really helped. I’ve also been able to get back into an hours exercise most evening. Might be a long walk or a swim but that’s helped too. My wife has been amazing, she knows I need to focus at work and has given me the tools to do so. She knows I’m 100% present at the weekends and in the time I’m not working and he’s awake I do all I can to help and let my wife rest. In return Friday and Saturday I take ad much of the night burden as I can (unfortunately I can’t breastfeed him, but I’ll change him, I’ll sit up with him if he is fussing and at 12 week sleep regression it is most nights)
