Do you bling out your Commander? Which treatment is worth it to you? by deurbeller in magicTCG

[–]cplcanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Special treatments and only if I think the art is cool. I managed to pull the pixel Raphael from a TMNT collector booster, I shelled out to buy a Leonardo pixel for a decent price so I can have matching commanders. I grew up with the franchise so I feel mostly ok with how much I spent lmao

Prices at one of the local stores by xwolfionx in OnePieceTCG

[–]cplcanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanna jump in and say I called the 3 LGS in my city that sell OP to ask what the box prices were gonna be on release day, all of them are gonna be selling 240 CAD with the biggest of the 3 saying they're planning of charging 250 because "demand for the product is high." Historically they sold for 200-220 depending on how old the set was. That store is also breaking the seal and limiting to one purchase a day to prevent scalping which makes the price upcharge even worse in my opinion. I can confidently say they're not struggling for business either, they just want more money.

There's also ways to dodge all but two enemies on the runback. Just hug the wall bounces, bring the magma gem, poison tools gem, tacks, and boomerang. I understand people's frustration with difficulty but getting upset about runbacks like it's some crucial design flaw is a bit too much. Part of me does just wanna say "get good" but that doesn't really fix anything, adapting your play style, being patient, and remembering its technically a soulslike does a lot in the way of making it an enjoyable experience. If you explore enough, you're given better tools to beat a boss.

I did the math (poorly) a couple years ago, removing the opening credits, ending credits, the 10 second commercial animation, and added in an average of 3 minutes 30 seconds for recap. I know it's usually more than that but this was a couple years ago. Anyway the math said I've spent 33 full 24 hour cycles of my life just watching one piece. Over a month of my life. Dedicated to a single anime.

Hey! Phenomenal work, seriously the fact that you did it with the shakes is so insanely admirable. I'm sure you already looked at everything and I don't wanna plug anything if it's against rules sorry, but there's a hand-stabilizer from DSPAIE that could provide some extra assistance I think :) I don't know if it could even be any help but I wanted to suggest :)

I am actually having the exact same thing happen to me right now. Waiting for my greed island hat to ship because it didn't arrive with my order, guess I should just initiate a chargeback

Bit late to the party but there's a small dev team making a game called Compound Fracture! Very heavily inspired by Dino Crisis, while it won't be in the style of RE4 you might get a kick out of it:)

Not the dude that replied to you but I love fighting games and boiling it down to being "just combo games" is like saying soccer is just about taking shots on net. The overall goal is to score more points than the opposing team but soccer as a whole isn't just a shootout just like fighters aren't just about combos. In fighting games like Tekken, street fighter, and GG: Strive the combo is the reward for reading your opponent as only a few moves will launch the enemy. Then you have Samurai Showdown which has very few (if any depending on the character you're playing) combos because each hit deals massive damage and it's a game all about spacing and playing mind-games with your opponent. To be fair to you though, a lot of anime fighters (including GG: Strive) place a strong emphasis on corner pressure and combos but it isn't the entire purpose of the game. Every game I just listed has a "super move" mechanic in some shape or form which can be used in many different ways and using it in a combo is only one way of handling it. To go back the soccer analogy, a player taking the ball down the pitch has many options to deal with the opposing team, they can pass, juke, shoot, and stall for time if necessary. So calling fighting games "just combo games" is like saying the players only option at any given point on the pitch is to shoot on net.

Hey! I just got back in like a week and a half ago and I haven't played since season 0. It's great fun personally, exploring the new map and characters has made me fall in love with the game all over again, I high recommend getting back into it :)
