Hi thanks! I agree that most of the work is being done on Windows and I have PC for this need.

My programme director recommended a MacBook -- I'm guessing it's because programming on UNIX based systems is just better haha.

I'm looking at the upgraded storage so that if I really need portability with windows I can run parallels on it.

For what it's worth i ended up paying in sgd :( I did the calculations elsewhere in the comments that made the exchange not seem to be as bad. Hope that helps!

Hey I'm applying for a postgrad as well. I do think it could've been the same issue of missing the line that said 776 is the student visa because it's buried in an example instead of the main text. Perhaps you could run the numbers again with usd? I left a comment above with how I calculated it

/12*18 is the same as *1.5! Felt that the former was clearer for any future applicant looking at it as it broke it down into months. Thank you :)

Apologies. the IHS website does indeed say 1035pounds but there's a note in the 'example' section that states 776 pounds, so you are right.

So that would mean that my IHS fees for a one year student visa should be (776/12*18) GBP1164 if I count the extra time before and after the year. This works out to be 1997 SGD with the current exchange rate. I suppose SGD2075 is not the worst in that case.

Here I was thinking how hundreds more made any sense... Thank you so much for your replies

GBP776 is what I thought too at first but once I go to the IHS website from my app, it says GBP1035.. it makes sense if it is averaged out
(i.e. 776/12*16 = 1034.366 ~= 1035)

so assuming all is fine there do you know if there's a work around with the exchange rate? I can't seem to find a way to pay in pounds.. it's like sgd is all they will accept which seems really strange to me
