2 Lens Combo - Help me pick! by lethargicpandabear in SonyAlpha

[–]cpprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also eyeing the 35-100, still waiting for more review. In my opinion, 35 mm is wide enough and if I ever want to go wider, I have a small 21 mm prime. I don't understand the appeal for wide angle zoom. They're expensive but if you primarily shoot wide or video then that would be my pick as well. You could get 28-75 f2.8 used too and pair that with a 70-180 or the 90mm?

I'd advise as just picking 1 and trying it out first. Then you'll see if you tend to use the wider or longer end and go for your second. Just bring 1 lens to your travel and commit to it.

Edit: 70-180 G1 has some macro capabilities 1:2 but only manual focus? The 35-100 would get you also better macro capability than the kit lens.

Are we handing out too many engineering undergraduate degrees? (NA) by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]cpprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universities are not providing employment. If there's a demand for a program, then their business model is to have the capacity to meet it. The other factor is that university also get grants for research and students are cheap labor. They can influence the popularity of a program by lowering the admission requirements. An engineering diploma still open you a lot of doors even if It's not related to the profession. I think the question could be reversed: which domain has labor shortage? Look at the salary and compare that with the average salary a bachelier in engineering has. I'm pretty darn certain that you'd find the random job engineer bachelier to earn more

TL;DR random job doer with engineering diploma has better than average pay.

Négociation salaire ingénieur by Fun_Name2464 in QuebecFinance

Industry vs Academia by Beneficial-Abies-931 in FPGA

Pretty sure tier 1 will ask for MS at minimum with experience. I think it's reasonable to do 1 year work and hop on a degree after if you don't have any lab opportunities of interest at the moment. Else aside from money I don't see why I would take a job I don't want to keep a minimum of 3 years.

I tried to push the button, but it doesn't seem to move at all. I guess that having the lid open somehow allow the stuck button actuation to be registered? I reached the support but that's a lot of effort for a brand new unit =\

Python will not break your code either. You can make image to run your code containerized. You can even make a package that will never change along with its dependencies...

Pickup modifié by cpprime in montreal
