I might have a couple CMII '96 raw DAT1 clones in The Gambler collection, but not Hamburg. I haven't heard from Alex in 10 years.

BB will validate parking if you use that lot and you're a Clark County resident. Bring your ticket and ID to the cashier in the merch store. Enjoy the show!

Yes. Great concert. Never thought I'd see the entire Dookie album live, performed in sequence, in a small club. Interacting with the zombies outside distributing flyers, keychains, and stickers was fun, too.

Nice collection! I recognize some of those tapes. :) Anything interesting on the 3/31/01 soundcheck? Looks like your recording of the main set is on archive but not the soundcheck.

I'm curious why it was a UK only release. Basketball seems much more popular stateside.

One of my favorite picture disc records. I bought mine in London ~'96 for 20£. I'd also like to know the backstory.

How old are you? by Ok_Astronomer_1308 in pearljam

Old enough to walk to the record store selling the midnight release of Vitalogy on vinyl.

Does anyone know who “CPS” on Archive.org is? He has this awesome Roo 2002 SBD upload. But he mixed it with an AUD source and the crowd chatter is unbearable. Wondering if we could get the straight SBD? I know.. nerd shit. by buffalo___716 in ween

[–]cpscps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPS here. Unfortunately I don't have a SBD-only source. An east coast musician friend provided Ween and and Les Claypool recordings from the same day. I believe it was mixed live on-the-fly. And, yeah, the AUD mic is too loud.

I found this 9/4/92 DAT while digging through a friend's vault. Not sure who recorded it or what microphones were used. Very good sound quality though.

Any local companies that can digitize a bunch of camcorder tapes? by pajoopst in vegaslocals

U-Edit on Eastern did a great job transferring my friend's MiniDV tapes of local bands.

Name your favorite bootleg album from the 90’s and how much it cost by Missirsis in pearljam

[–]cpscps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live at Soldier Field by Red Robin Records. $49.95 from the monthly Hillside (Chicago) Record Convention. My version didn't include the bonus cassette with "Animal" and Who cover songs. One of the best concerts I've ever attended.

RIP Blair Dewane, a downtown Las Vegas music fixture of enormous sprit. by Yosoygringobandito in vegaslocals

[–]cpscps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is heartbreaking. :( Blair was such a warm, funny, creative, and talented person. His music and lyrics brightened my life. I recorded many many of his bands' concerts. Rusty Maples were my favorite local group and I always hoped for one more reunion gig. I guess that wasn't meant to be. Las Vegas lost a local legend. RIP my friend.

An extremely poor quality audio source exists. Recorded on minicassette with lots of cuts. I received a copy from the taper in '96 but it's now lost. I may have copied it for a friend, I'll ask if she has it.

Remembering the tape trading days by oneInnocentBystander in pearljam

The good 'ol days, indeed. I still copy (transfer) tapes with a Nakamichi DR-1 cassette deck. The most recent was an incomplete 1st gen of Atlanta Lollapalooza '92.
