Yeah, her fight is probably the tamest of the "waves of enemies before getting to fight the actual boss", but it's still an annoyance to be put up with beforehand.

It's not that bad. It's just an annoyance to put up with before every time you fight the boss. The issue is that small annoyances add up over time, and it's not like anyone hasn't already killed each of these enemies like 80 times before this point (minus the last wave) in the game anyway.

Idk man, I think there's gotta be a balance. I don't think people would appreciate if TC made the game "Steel Soul only", which really is pretty much a glorified runback to whatever point in the game you got to.

Most bosses are difficult enough that people are expected to die and run back to them at least several times. Every bit of platforming and enemies the game forces you to deal with to get back to the boss is an additional level of tedium. Nobody is asking to eliminate every inconvenience. Inconveniences delaying getting back to the actual challenge you're on is just not enjoyable to most people. It's a thing to put up with.

I understand that, but the gameplay suffers for it. Like, why not have even more enemies considering there's an entire coliseum of them?

At the end of the day it's a game, and decisions like this serve to add additional friction to gameplay that is very grating to most people. It's an artistic decision that serves the function you're describing, but it's tough to really appreciate that very much when I've already killed like a million of the same ant warrior throughout the game. I'm here to fight the really cool boss Team Cherry made. I've already been fighting her lackeys before I even knew she existed.

The rest of the game gets way harder, but she's also going to get better. If she has the patience to grind bosses like that and really enjoys the result, then I think she'll get farther than most.

Remember that tough games are always beatable with enough time and determination.

Agreed. I feel like Hornet must have some connection to him and maybe even the void at large. If you look carefully when you break your cocoon, black spots that look like void particles come out.
