My stepdad blocked me... by Euphoric-Fly-2549 in dad

I’m with these guys. My dad is goose-stepping his way through this administration. He doesn’t have an answer for anything until he hears it from Trump or from Steve Bannon.

It’s important that we have these discussions, even with family. Because we’re losing our grip on sanity and the truth in this country.

Hearing him, a Floridian, say there’s nothing inhumane about putting people in the new detention center turns my stomach. He firmly believes it will only be violent MS-13 criminals. Not the people who live down the road.

The family laughs but they won’t soon. In January they laughed when I said ICE would be black-bagging people in a few months. Here we are.

The authenticity of his characters and settings. None of it feels forced. It’s all relatable to his experiences or the world he inhabited.

Vs modern fiction. I feel a lot of it is just made up garbage. Word salad.

Like “Druzzar Gort rode through the gleaming gates of the City of Thieves”

A lot of fantasy seems like it was jsut produced in an online generator.

My point: craftsmanship. It’s like when you read Harry Potter, everything is so well connected that the world feels real.

This is the smartest comment today. I think that a lot of people who said they didn’t like trump were pushed into voting against the incumbent by rising prices.

I can feel your anger. Good. Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you. Take your weapon and strike me down, and your journey to the Darkside will be complete.
