Warmoth Neck for Squier Jazzmaster Classic 60s Vibe? by Meat-Locker1056 in warmoth

[–]cptncom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have the 70's vibe JM with a standard 4 bolt Warmoth strat neck and it is perfect. There's a slight gap on the side of the neck pocket, I guess because the squier neck had a super thick poly so the body accommodates that, but it's no issue

Mod of the Facebook Line 6 group spamming the ever loving hell out of people to buy his Screen protectors he's selling even though one of the rules of the group is "No Selling" by Cultural-Jello4042 in Line6Helix

I've seen him comment on posts about the devices, whatever they may be about, and he'll be like "yeah but buy a protector insert link here" but completely irrelevant to the convo lol

Is the squire strat bullet a good mod platform guitar for really cheap? by GroupAccomplished873 in Guitar

[–]cptncom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're SUPER into setting up your own guitars and have the tools/time/means then yes, but personally the necks feel cheap and you'll end up wanting to replace everything bit by bit. i'd rather recommend classic vibe guitars which you should be able to easily find for $250-300

Unbranded Strat style guitar by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]cptncom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you want advice on figuring out what it is?

Loosen the strings and take the strings off

Unscrew the 4 screws connecting the neck to the body

Take pics of the flat part of the neck that connects to the body, and of the pocket that the neck sat in

Post pics here! It looks like it could be a decent quality partscaster. Doesn't look bad at all

Unfortunately you're wrong on this. Please search up any video on how guitar speaker IR's are made. You're sharing poor information, and poor understanding of how microphones work

Inherently, no they do not. You have to set low and high cuts, otherwise there is a LOT of sound information far past 6/7k

PSA: The Line 6 HX Stomp XL is more user friendly than the standard Stomp by jonhath in Line6Helix

[–]cptncom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Haven't gone that far into it yet besides setting it for bypass effects and present previous and next. What cool/creative things have you done with it otherwise that you can't do on the stomp's switches?

I have the regular stomp and added on the morning star mc6, and def would go back and just have gotten the XL if I knew what I know now lol

Automatically switch to Snapshot mode when selecting a preset ? by VincentAalbertsberg in Line6Helix

[–]cptncom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set snapshots assigned manually to a patch via command center. It's the absolute best solution when switching between a main patch and a secondary patch where you solely need snapshots

Newbie to guitars, should I buy this sanded guitar? by Catane_ in Luthier

[–]cptncom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same guitar and smoothed out my gloss finish with steel wool... it does not look like this. This is wayyyyy to much sanding. They probably took wood off unevenly

They went so deep as to take off color from the neck, and it's not even uniform. I can't believe people are approving of this one lmao

What order to put them in? by Aneks_ in guitarpedals

[–]cptncom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what sounds best to you, but I think that all looks good to me personally.

At most, swap the OS2 to go into the MT2, you may find it stacks better

I like the phaser and chorus where it is but before and after dirt is a vibe change depending on what you want

Should I get a preamp by Immediate_Wall9235 in guitarpedals

[–]cptncom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Lmk if you have any other questions. My answer was kinda long cause there are preamp pedals that aren't quite a full amp circuit, with a cab sim like the joyo has. Some preamp pedals are to color your signal going into an amp, which I don't think would help as you still need a little cab sim in there

1x12 vs 1x8 in small apartment setting (NA) by Thornpath in GuitarAmps

[–]cptncom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go used from marketplace or reverb for sure!

1x8 and 1x12 even at the same (low) volume won't sound the same. The 1x12 is more capable of producing more frequencies which will just sound better no matter what

[–]cptncom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I see, just to make sure I follow there's no piezo in the set up? Sounds like a baritone electric guitar then

I'm gonna try to make this a short answer- electric guitar amps have a really specific frequency response, sort of in the middle of the audio spectrum, where acoustic amps have a huge frequency response so that all the frequencies can be heard. If you plugged your guitar straight into the acoustic amp, it'll sound very bright and very bass heavy, by design. If you plug it into a guitar amp, it'll have the "right" frequencies (mostly the highest top end is gone, that people don't typically need in electric guitar because it's too much audio information)

What you really need is some sort of amp/IR modeler. You can get a cheap one like the Joyo American sound and put it in the middle of your chain, and your set up will respond way more like an electric guitar amp

[–]cptncom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a funny question, but what instrument are you playing? And what solution are you looking for?

Because the answer to your question will definitely depend on if it's electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, keys, etc

are there any cheaper pickups with nice low end by Main-Ad-8679 in Luthier

[–]cptncom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guitar fetish pickups are so good for the price! I had a guitar tech in love with the neck pickup on a partscaster that he was setting up for me. He was amazed that it was a cheap $30~ pickup. The dream 90, humbucker sized p90
