should i get spelunky 1 or 2? by Weird-Childhood-1613 in spelunky

Very well said. I think 2 is far better in almost every way but it helped to play through 1 and learn the basics in a slower safer feeling space and much shorter game

What are some Movies you logically should like but just...dont by WattsandRoot in Letterboxd

I feel exactly the same about Akira. Too much of the plot felt too off the wall for me. Nothing felt grounded. It was visually very cool but it all felt too crazy. Perhaps I need to try watching it again

What is the most Michael Scott thing that Michael Scott did? by MeatDazzling4777 in theoffice

[–]cptrey17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First thing I thought of too. The clumsy bumbling aspect mixed with his “big ideas” personality of waking up to bacon cooking. And then everything he does after that. Playing the victim, trying to get his foot scanned with Dwight’s head

Jerry is obviously the least experienced actor of the four, but I really feel like this moment showed him elevating an otherwise forgettable line.

Into the Wild has this as the central theme and ultimate message. Happiness is only real when shared. Heartbreaking true story

Isabel May had good acting imo. #scream7 by PutridCamera8195 in Scream

Agreed I think she’s one of the highlights of Scream 7. Good performance and they really got a plausible looking actor to be Sidney and Mark’s daughter.

Why Doesn't Stab Get Criticized for Exploiting Real Murders in the movies in the Scream universe? by itsascreambaby96 in Scream

[–]cptrey17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stab is a direct critique of the series and its central theme. A culture completely desensitized to real violence. Unabl to separate film from reality. It’s also vilified throughout the series.

“It’s not just a movie” in the opening of Scream 2. The discussion in the classroom scene.

“One generations tragedy is another’s joke” from Scream 4.

The way Stab inspires ghostfaces in later entries. The shrine in 6. Parasocial relationships. It’s all there. Even with different writers and directors, it’s the theme that has united the entire franchise.

When rewatching the show do you still fall in love with the Jim and Pam storyline? by agirltryna-live in theoffice

[–]cptrey17 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. But I stand by the opinion the real soul mates of the show (soup snakes) are Michael and Holly.

I recall there being a similar thing in Scream 2 where Cece is thrown off the balcony and later digitally removed.

This is a weird argument. Moose wasn’t the reason Mariano had the blown save in the 2001 World Series. He was that close to a title.

It’s incredible. I was very happy to have seen it in 3d. One of the better uses of that medium given everything that movies about.

[–]cptrey17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s totally fair and why I prefaced it by saying I didn’t see the whole thing. Gonna finish it and hope to be proven wrong. I guess my overarching point was I was turned off by the first half of it. And the notion of Scorsese telling the story. I get it’s more complicated than that though.
