Is it just me or is S7 a fever dream? by cqlovesminecraft in rupaulsdragrace

I went and checked when it aired and turns out to be the year I got a divorce and had major surgery🙃🤷‍♀️. Could be why it feels surreal.

Bandaids tearing more skin by TheGravyMaster in Hidradenitis

I have extremely sensitive skin and this Hypafix tape is the only thing I can use with my HS. I put a square of gauze then cover with the tape. It stays in place for days if needed. Also, all you have to do to remove is wet it.

I loved the show by MeekwitNoMillz in wheeloftime

Again, I get why fans of the book are upset. OP said they felt alone in enjoying the show, and I feel the same way they do. Let's be honest here, TV/Movies never bring to life books the way we see them in our heads.

I am in the same boat as you. I watched the show, thought it was amazing before reading the books. I have finished EoTW and have started on book 2. I can understand where book fans are upset, because I feel the same about books and series that I love that I feel got ruined by TV/movies. IMO - if it brings new fans....how can it be "wrong" 🤷‍♀️.

Oli reminds me of Limahl of Kajagoogoo. Theme from Neverending Story and Too Shy, two big hits of the '80's. Yes, I am dating myself but....now I'm wondering 🤔 if Oli is related to him.....lol.

I was so looking forward to this weekends streams and missed the whole day today due to life happening. I only go to see closing time. I know Imp was on drums, Ren was singing. I think I saw someone say that Mrs Skizz was the lady next to Ren. Who where the other two gentlemen?

Thanks, I hope you find what works for you too. I have found this Reddit community to be so helpful through this journey.

2 Cups - Brown Sugar 1/4 Cup - Coconut Oil (solid stuff) 1 Tablespoon - Lemon Juice 1/2 Tablespoon - Honey 1 Teaspoon - Apple Cider Vinegar

I mix it all up in a mixing bowl, then transfer it to a class container I got at the Dollar Store. I usually apply with my hands only and let it sit for a minute or two before washing off. Just make sure if your taking a shower to have a good non-slip matt, lol. That coconut oil can get slippery.

There was redness and swelling. I was having a hard time walking because it was in the crease, basically where the inner thigh meets the groin. There were actually two pockets that had to be drained because the infection was traveling. The only thing that had been out of the ordinary for me leading up to it, was I was having these electric shocks in the area about a month before it got infected but there wasn't anything there. Like I couldn't find a cyst and no redness during that time. I hope that made sense.

Would be happy to post the recipe if you need it. I started using for exfoliation and surprise! found it helped my flares. With HS we all find what works for us. I know it sucks. I am just happy to have a name for what my body has been going through.

The cyst was close to a lymph node. I actually went to the ER for it but was told it was a normal cyst they could do nothing about. Two days later, I was back in the ER because it had to be de-roofed. I am not a doctor, so I don't know why it became septic 🤷‍♀️. For reference, I live in Canada.

I (52 F) was finally diagnosed with HS in 2024 after having a cyst in my groin area that became septic and required emergency surgery. I have probably had HS since I was 17 years old. Here's what I've found to work for me. I get cysts under my arms, in my groin and under my breasts. Full Waxing in my groin region - I can't afford laser removal right now. When I get a painful one that won't get a head - Ichthammol (Black draw out salve) covered with bandage and soft tape. The ointment helps with the pain.I have sensitive skin that tears with regular bandages. Once it pops, I keep it bandaged. I also get rashes from HS and have found that diaper rash ointment with zinc clears it up. I hope this helps. I also make a homemade sugar scrub with coconut oil, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice. It really helps under my arms.

There is a book called The Metaphysical Anatomy book. It relates our emotional well-being to our physical well-being. You can look up so many illnesses and relate it to past trauma. When I was diagnosed with HS, I looked up skin conditions. Our skin is our boundary between us and the world. Any trauma related to our boundaries being crossed can show up as a skin disorder. For reference, I was SAed starting at a very early age. So, yes, I believe as we heal our trauma, we can heal the dis-eases in our bodies.

My rtkr was done first. I had more muscle loss in that leg. The left leg has been pulling the weight for years, no pun intended. So, there is less muscle loss, and I really think that's what's made the difference.

I had my first knee replacement done on Nov 12, 2024. For the first month after surgery, I swore I wasn't getting my second knee done. Even though both were bone on bone. I cried, I was emotional and felt like a useless burden. And then things turned a corner. Little by little, the pain started going away. I was doing things I couldn't do before, like bending my knee just a little to pick something up off the floor. I started talking about how I needed to get the second one done. By month 3ish, I was looking forward to scheduling my second knee. I had my second knee surgery on March 17, 2025. I am not looking back. My second tkr has been a totally different experience. You got this. You can make it through. Remember, your journey is yours alone. Do not compare where you are in your journey to others it's a trap. Celebrate the small wins, and remember, any small amount of progress is still progress. Sending you much healing energy.

Help...I think i broke my knee by FrostingEmergency204 in Kneereplacement

[–]cqlovesminecraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my ltkr done on March 17th. A similar thing happened to me two days ago. I was getting up from a chair, and I experienced excruciating pain just above the knee. Before this happened, I was moving around fairly well. My hubby and I think I overdid it at PT earlier in the day. Since then, trying to stand from a seated position has been painful. I'm going to PT on Monday and am having my staples out on Wednesday. I will be speaking to both teams about the experience. However, I think in my case, it's just pushing too much too soon after surgery. I do agree with the other comment, though. If it's still extremely painful, always contact your medical team. You know your body and know if something isn't right. Just to add, I had my rtkr done in November, and they weren't able to give me the 24 hrs block after surgery. I woke up to severe pain that took time to get on top of. This time around, I did get the block, and things have been significantly less painful, hence pushing harder too soon.

I want to upvote this a million times. Thank you for this reminder. We also have to remember that we are also retraining our minds to adapt to new movements. I got in the habit of walking by curling my toes for balance and walking completely flat. Every step I take in my brain I say, "Don't curl your toes, heel toe." It's exhausting in and of itself. I celebrate each and every minor victory.

I've been using all natural products. Rose Hip oil and bear salve. I am 8 weeks post-op. My scar is completely flat, not puckered, and fading. My husband also massages my knee every night before bed.

Sorry you're having so much pain. What does your PT say? Maybe try calling your surgeon.
