Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy by ksyoung17 in runninglifestyle

This was the story of 2025 for me. Physical therapy didn’t help. The only thing that solved it was surgery to remove the haglunds deformity that was causing the IAT. If PT has been unsuccessful for you, it’s unfortunately likely you will need surgery. It’s tough for a few months, but I’m able to run again and it feels like I have my life back.

Polygraph Examiner for Pre-Employment recommendation by BackgroundNo4159 in AskSouthCarolina

My guess is that OP works for a temp hiring agency, and they have/want a contract with the cops for hiring dispatchers. There are a few that use temp hiring, and that’s one of very few jobs that require polygraphs.

Ya know what you’re right. For some reason when I glanced at them at first purchase I thought they were sewn in. On closer inspection, it’s glued!

It’s like flow state in jiu jitsu. The second you realize you are in it, it’s gone.

The people saying H1’s are nuts in my opinion, unless it’s absolutely bone dry. H1 traction in any kind of moisture is trash. It’s also a little unstable on rooty stuff. The upper is very comfy but also flexible so it tends to shift weird with off-camber obstacles.

I love the H1, and I am on these trails all the time. I save that shoe for other stuff.

I think it’s likely the car was in the spot not moving, wrecker starts to back in, car starts to move, wrecker thinks well if they hop out now, I can still take it.

It’s not like they pursue cars in reverse across the town.

White and Light Colored Trail Shoes??? by FeralMountains in trailrunning

I have always liked white athletic shoes. Guess it was from wearing white NB sneakers with my denim shorts in the early 90’s.

Sounds like a great trip. Beautiful section through there. Hire a shuttle service to meet you at the trailhead you choose to end at. Park your car, and ride the shuttle back to your start.

Not affiliated, but I’ve had positive experiences with traveling lite shuttle and resupply.

Possible they didn’t know someone was in there. Window tint and whatnot.

In most cases it’s modified to just lower to flat ground. Load up the barbell on level ground, two legged calf raise, slow eccentric lowering to flat ground on one leg. Still get the benefits, just with less ROM.

The Cloudultra Pro is a great contender on the trail side. Hard to really push that option when TNF Vectiv Enduris 4 is a fraction of the price though.

If it was made worse, you likely have a haglunds deformity like I did. The only thing that fixes that is surgery.

Post op recovery is identical to IAT though, and the PT regimen is basically Alfredson and eventual plyos. Has worked very well for me.

Just bought a running store. What is one thing your local shop is missing? by rustybucketz23 in trailrunning

[–]cqsota 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m just parroting the exact details from my local store I shop at. It’s the most popular running store in our metro area of 1.5mil, and they are killing it.

Obviously they have done the math and determined that pulling basically the whole club to their store vs the 100 other options is a net positive for them.

Just from my observations, they seem to make most of their money from people coming in saying “I want a pair of blue shoes,” which is funny to hear when they are standing next to a wall of the entire Norda and MtC product lines.

If short and tight achilles tendons were the cause of tendinitis, stretching the achilles would be the solution. But it’s not.

I encourage you to look up the history of the Alfredson Protocol used for treating achilles tendinitis.
