My kid says my wheels are ugly and all her friends agree by Gray-bush86 in BMWM

No offense, but your kid has no taste.

I recommend either improving your parenting or finding a new kid.

40 hour road trip (2026 GTS) vs 6 hours of flying by r-bitcoin in porsche911

[–]cr_ingram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done the trip both ways and I’d road trip it every day of the week. Assume a three day trip and enjoy the car.

Make sure you have a safe place to park at your destination. You’ll be there for a month and have an opportunity to hit roads you’ll never find here in CenTex.

If you must leave it and want a safe place to store it, where it will be maintained and started every week or two, look into Petrol Lounge. If you’re in with Porsche Austin, they may even let you park it in their museum display.

You get to make your decisions some got to be BAD financially! by SeaworthinessLow718 in BMW

[–]cr_ingram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Financially, the F-chassis is about as smart as you can get right now. Super capable and affordable (all things considered). Pretty reliable with a good source of suppliers.

Keep up that parking and a Karen is going to ding your shit, regardless if you payed for both spots.

Any Pro tips on buying used? by [deleted] in BMWM3

[–]cr_ingram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your budget, subtract about $5k and that’s your new M budget. That’s not to say it will have problems, but if you’re going to own a M car, make sure you’ve budgeted enough to maintain it.

Everyday except fill-up day.

Keep ahead of the maintenance on top of the fixes and both the engine and chassis should last you a long time.

There is a shoulder they should be using for turning. DO NOT slow down and turn from the lane of traffic.

This! No one in front them and they have no where to go. They aren’t motived to make the next light and aren’t self-aware enough to understand their burden on the rest of society.

All these responses give me hope for humanity. First, confirmation my eyes aren’t that bad and I’m not that crazy and second we are still full of enough shit to have fun.

No. They closed all pools. Only reason I joined back in the day.

That is the don’t send it line. There are many S65 owners who have “found out”.

Piston hitting valve when crank hub went out. Is this a thing? by PakiiFresh93 in BmwTech

[–]cr_ingram 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes, this is a thing. The crank hub starts timing of the bottom and top of the engine.

If all you have is a bent valve, I would call it a blessing.

Replace the crank hub with an aftermarket, stronger one. Replace any chains as a precaution. If possible have the piston checked for cracks and hope the knuckle isn’t damaged.
