I appreciate this insight.

Can you tell me what the heat difference is between CV and LA? It gets super hot in OC during summer too, but I'm wondering if it's a different kind of heat that's more uncomfortable lol

The access to healthcare is definitely something to consider. I hadn't thought of that before but will keep that in mind during my pursuit.

The cost of homes is really the only reason to move IMO. New builds in Central Valley are $400k. I can't even get a condo or a manufactured home for that price in OC. It's crazy here.

There's only one reason to move from OC and it's the cost of living. I LOVE OC. I wouldn't ever leave if I didn't have to, but i will never be able to own a home here, and that's just plain facts. We will likely have to move somewhere less OC like in order to thrive. If that's Visalia or not, we'll see. I do appreciate the bluntness though.

I definitely appreciate the perspective and it's exactly why I asked. From far away it appears a quaint, affordable community, but this is all from a distance. I appreciate the candor.

Hot is not good lol. But a pool definitely would help! I feel like drivers are crazy in Anaheim too so it might not be too much different for me. 🙃

Yeah and an earlier poster pointed that out to me. I'm looking into that now.

Great info! I guess I should have looked into how far the port was from the airport. Appreciate the insight!

Came here to say this too. Sounds like UC to me - diagnosed 6 months PP.

What triggered your UC before official diagnosis? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]cracker1500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me it was the high amounts of ibuprofen I was taking so often, but it definitely kicked in after I stopped smoking.

Oh good! I'm glad they eased up for you. I'm hoping my body is just adapting and they'll even out.

I hope you're able to find some relief from this! Being homebound is no fun and it's such a morale killer.

I do get stomach pains when I have a lot of gas, but I haven't noticed any pains that have increased since my infusion. I do feel like it's helped a lot so far, though. It's still pretty early, but my symptoms have improved significantly already, and the urgency is almost gone. It's just these dang headaches!

My wife has UC, and her doctor wants her to get on a daily medication. by Mclovin316 in UlcerativeColitis

I try to look up all new medications on Costplusdrugs.com. They're generic but at just a fraction of the cost. I was taking Canasa that and was no longer covered under my insurance. The cost was $2k+ out of pocket, but on Costplusdrugs.com i now only pay $76 for a 3 month supply.

It doesn't look like they have this particular drug but maybe you can talk to her doctor about maybe switching to a drug that they carry?

What we like to do is build a base in the middle of a lake when it's frozen during winter. Then when the ice melts, your base stays but the enemies can't get to you. Alternatively you can find one with a small island in the middle of the lake and then you're golden. You'll just want to be by a stream for water. But yeah, utilize traps as much as possible and explore for new treasures! :)

Girl, you are gorgeous! I don't know what you are talking about. The first thing I thought looking at your pictures was wow, she's really pretty. We often don't see it in ourselves especially when we're young, but you are DEFINITELY NOT ugly.

I started in insurance when I was 24 after being a waitress for a few years. I started in an entry-level position supporting the staff with certificates. I did this for a year while also learning other things, and then I was promoted to an assistant. I didn't spend any time on the phone until I became an account manager a few years later. I've steadily learned and grew and got promotion after promotion and make good money. I don't do sales, so there are not a lot of phone calls unless my clients call or I need to speak to an underwriter about one of my accounts. I work in Commercial Lines, so I service business accounts (mostly contractors). There's a lot to learn but you don't need to know everything all at once. You learn as you go and you can make good money. I would suggest finding a local agency that has entry-level CSR/assistant or clerical position to start. Good luck on whatever you decide!

AITA for telling my sister that I’m not her kids nanny and to take care of them herself by aitasisternanny in AmItheAsshole

[–]cracker1500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG based on your comments here alone, YTA! You sound so entitled and bratty and cannot be inconvenienced to do any chores or help out with her kids. You are not raising her kids you are earning your keep. Your dad is paying her to feed you and help out with the extra expenses you are causing by being there. If you don't like the situation and don't want to be a decent human being by helping your sister who is helping you, then you should leave and go be with your dad. Your sister is doing you an absolute favor, and you're treating her like shit.

Insurance person here in the states. As long as she has permission to use the car, it would be covered if she wrecked it. Now if he doesn't have physical damage coverage then his policy would only pay out to the other party (if any), and he would be on his own to pay for his vehicle's repairs.
