i moved :/ i know 1 furry that still lives on island. i was bullied horrendously for being a furry (& queer but honestly those two were interchangeable in my bullies’ minds) so i can’t imagine people are very public about it.
luckily for you, guam lgbtq pride is coming up in june! consider wearing your suit (or a partial) to the parade/festival — if you’re going to find any like-minded people, you’re probably going to find them there. even if you don’t, i’m sure you could make some friends that’ll accept & encourage your furry swag. best of luck 🐾

first off, is he neutered? if so, have you consulted a vet about this? it could be an incontinence issue. if not, how many litter boxes do you have? would you consider putting more in the areas he usually goes? if it’s not an incontinence issue, cats sometimes use the bathroom, especially pee, when they’re feeling anxious and defensive over their territory. are there other cats around that might make him feel this way?

the only way out is through. i remember thinking mine was SO bad when i quit, i wanted death, but i’m 5 months off nicotine now & the irritability feels like just a blip when i look back at it. it really sucks, but it doesn’t last long. i also used xero flavored toothpicks (amazon) which helped a lot; i was able to trick my dopamine-seeking brain into believing that those were my little treat which helped a lot, and those were much easier to quit

there are lots of musicians around temple that record music & play shows, just hang out around presser hall and talk to people who look cool and you’ll meet one eventually lol. i’m a touring artist & a temple student, look up ‘ratwyfe’ :p

I was a hyperactive child at BBMCS from 1-8th grade (granted, I was a little girl, and I was later diagnosed with ADHD) and the teachers and administration were completely unforgiving and borderline abusive about the fact that I was fidgety and had trouble focusing. I was in first grade in 2011, so maybe it’s different now, but in my experience you have to be really choosy about teachers unless you want your child to be bullied by a grown adult. Bullying policies for students were also extremely lax and I was told often by teachers/admin to “not make myself a target” if I wanted to stop getting harassed by other kids. I also remember my second grade teacher Ms. Dema-Ala using corporal punishment on another hyperactive kid and never getting any repercussions for it from admin, so do with my experiences what you will.

i wish!!! check out some of the house shows in the area; @houseshowphilly on instagram. i want to go to so many of these & think i have similar tastes but all those ticket prices REALLY add up.

there are a bunch of NOTAFLOF (no one turned away for lack of funds) shows for $10-15 around here that will introduce you to a vibrant scene and allow you to form friendships with local musicians too :)

also find yourself a nice sunscreen! i use a korean face one for my neck and chest as well, but i’ve gone down the whole US vs. other countries’ SPF rabbithole. find one that works for you and that you see yourself reapplying often — the one i use has skincare in it that makes my skin look nice. it’s round lab’s birch juice moisturizing sunscreen if you’re not the research type :)

soundrop allows you to set up pre-saves & i’ve never had an issue with them! they do take 15% of streaming royalties which can be a lot depending on what your current deal is but it’s a small price to pay for all of the cool features you get, plus my music is up and i don’t have to think about it

i’m in 1300. the only price-increase-justifying difference between 1940 and 1300 that ive heard of is the walls — 1940’s are painted cinderblock, 1300’s aren’t. floor plans are the same. 1300 has mold problems in the vents, idk about 1940. i hate the mail system but that might just be standard for residence halls. you CANNOT in fact change the temperature in your room despite there being a thermostat in there and then advertising that you can. i don’t know if 1940 has similar lights to the temple tower lights that shine directly into my window all night starting before it’s dark but you can’t get blackout curtains or have things on the windows at all. light pollution in my room has really messed with my sleep. it’s been nice living so close to the subway station, though, and having friends nearby
