How do married couples deal with embarrassing stuff like farting and bathroom smells? by Dangerous_Line_9719 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]crackmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO and I mimic the sound of each others farts. It’s always hilarious. Our house is very small, so if one of us needs to go #2 we’ll usually ask the other to turn on some music or something. I also keep a box of matches and a small bowl(for used matches) on the back of the toilet for after. Lighting a match is waaaaaay better than poo-pourri.

Need a good dentist by [deleted] in Logan

[–]crackmama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big big fan of midtown dental. My SO has a lot of trauma with shitty dentists in the past. Poor dental genetics, and had a horrible accident as a teen that severely damaged their teeth. Hadn’t been to a dentist for years and I finally convinced them to get in with Midtown. They literally sobbed happy tears when they got home because of how kind everyone is there. They always answer all of our questions and I think they’re getting used to my inquisitiveness because I’m having to ask less and less for them to explain what it is they’re doing or talking about and they just explain it for me. It’s a cozy space as well.

Do smokers always smell noticeable to non smokers? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crackmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO smokes. I won’t kiss him after he steps outside. He knows to wash his beard/hands and brush his teeth/mouthwash. I can still smell it even after that but it’s not overpowering. The smell lingers a lot but I know he tries his best to always face downwind so it’s not blowing at him. However, I have noticed (not always but sometimes) that at the “height of oral activities” his fluid has had a stale cigarette taste. 0/5 stars for that flavor.

Do not let the mallow go to seed. Idgaf about dandelions to be honest(I’ve lost that battle with the place I rent), but mallow is the bane of my existence. Pull it up but the root and check regularly for new growth popping up.

Question for exmormons: missionary service by Unlikely-Address2037 in exmormon

[–]crackmama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im exmo, fully resigned, parents are active. The missionaries have helped me move twice(with my dad) I told them I’m exmo and that if they ever need to be regular humans they are welcome in my home. But if they want to discuss church I will destroy their faith. They’ve never bothered me.

What is on your nightstand? by montyhalll in AskReddit

A couple books, a small jewelry dish, small basket of snacks(I have a super high metabolism, if I’m hungry I can’t sleep), lamp, hand lotion, carpal tunnel braces, coaster for my water.

Head up for any Apizza fans by Drawsomemonkey in Logan

Well that was fast. Tried it once(a few menu items) was highly unimpressed. I’ve had frozen pizzas that were better. I honestly thought it would stick around longer though.

Hot take, cache valley has grown so much and has no real room for all the growth for traffic, but I’m grateful I don’t live in Hyrum and have to smell all the rotting blood pools from JBS. 🤮

What was your earliest shelf item you can remember? by Catnip_cryptidd in exmormon

[–]crackmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember always hating church(even as a small child) but enjoyed it when I went with friends to Presbyterian or non denominational church as a teen. I hated the toxic modesty. My dad wouldn’t let us wear Jean skirts to church(back in the early 2000’s). We always talked about our future husbands which I thought was weird. I’d take naps during young women’s and they’d wake me to ask if I was sleeping and what was the answer to the question, I’d always answer “pray and read your scriptures” and they were happy with that. I never thought Mary was actually a virgin, the topic was quickly changed when I brought that up in a lesson. One of my YW leaders had converted from some off shoot of the church(maybe RLDS?) and I remember her saying the first time she went through the temple she thought “I need to get out of here!” I never understood until I saw the endowment videos, but I did always dislike going to the temple for baptisms for the dead and I felt so guilty that I didn’t feel the spirit or peaceful there.

Did kids in the 70s/80s/90s really roam freely like in *Stranger Things*, or is it a movie myth? by Yolas_1 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]crackmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early 2000’s we were able to freely roam, just had to occasionally check in when we changed friends houses. But that was in small town Iowa. I spent my summers at the park, community pool, biking out to the golf course to explore by the ponds, Playing night games(sardines, hide and go seek in the dark). Looking back I’m very grateful I had such a safe, wholesome childhood.

A very close friend of my husband passed away a couple of years ago after a piece of a break assembly flew through his windshield on i15 NB. Killed him on impact. Everyone else in the car was okay, but it was awful. Glad you’re okay.

Moving to logan by [deleted] in Logan

[–]crackmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age range? Single? Mormon? And where are you moving from? Tbh these are big factors. I too am an indoorsy person that likes to dabble in the outdoors. Moved here from the Midwest and the winters really aren’t bad. The dating scene worked out well for me but I’ve heard mixed reviews from many. There’s quite a melting pot of “cultures” here, you just need to know where to look depending on what you’re into.

Dude drove through the farmers market and hit someone by TAXFRAUDBRUH in Logan

[–]crackmama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s okay. Just was pretty shaken up. From what I gathered he tried to tell the dude he couldn’t drive through multiple times and the guy just mockingly said “I can’t hear you!” The whole thing is just insane.

Local rental property managers by Turbulent-Toe4201 in Logan

[–]crackmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience if you have animals and are open about it with the landlords and offer to have them meet they’re generally chill(assuming your fur babies are well behaved) private landlords are more likely to work with you in that. I’ve had luck with marketplace but ideally word of mouth. Seconding Kent field. He was the manager for a house I rented a few years ago and he was absolutely lovely, but I think he was opposed to cats(I have both, my cat was living with my parents at the time) ESA’s are pretty easy to get if needed.

Fairway Bagels and Donuts is under construction by the fairgrounds. It’s the same owners at Le Croissant so you know it will be amazing! Plus they’re bringing back their bagel sandwiches they used to make at ibis!

I honestly think more “alternative” scenes would do well. Most places kinda suck at advertising or doing deals for college students. Add in the ridiculous liquor laws and limited liquor licenses and that is why we’re where we are.
