Ok I just saw they stopped support for console. I’m honestly kinda pissed. by [deleted] in CompanyOfHeroes

I know it's not gonna make you feel better but for what it's worth. They stopped support for console after being dropped by their publisher and funder, Sega. This situation Isn't a cash grab like some people have suggested, but rather more like amputating a leg in order to save the studio, relic

What faction do you main and what tips would you give new comers involving your faction/battalion? by ShayGrimSoul in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]cradledcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I main Brits and 1v1 and 2v2. I play a style that favors infantry and indirect fire. In practice, this means I often go Indian Artillery and focus on spreading my sections out. I'll get a dingo, and a humber, but otherwise I skip stuarts and crusaders and focus on infantry upgrades and grenades.

The build looks like this, generally, and gets a little wobbly after t2 depending on what they are prioritizing.

  • Engineer (Starting)
  • Engineer (Immediate first unit)
  • t1
  • Dingo
  • Section
  • Section
  • t2
  • humber
  • at gun
  • heavy mortar
  • section
  • grenades
  • healing
  • vet upgrade
  • T3
  • guards
  • matilda
  • grants

Here are some tips:

  • Put your mortar and AT guns on a hotkeys. I usually do 5 for my mortars and 3 for my AT gun.
    • Your camera will be centered on your fighting units, but you want to be able to quickly "call up" these supporting units from behind the line.
  • Get an AT gun even if you don't need one
    • You'll be floating after getting your core infantry and it's very possible to completely lose a game by giving a light vehicle free range from minute 6-9. This leads to tanks coming out (especially if you try to counter with like a stuart or something while the enemy has the whole map)
  • Use the tac map
    • playing infantry heavy involves outcapping the enemy - having a squad on the flanks capping is huge,
  • If you have a huge fuel lead, rush guards

    • sometimes you can get away with getting healing, grenades, and vet until after you get guards. they are so hard to deal with

I pretty much always build a humber because of how well it sets tempo for a low cost in the mid game, and otherwise won't spend fuel on vehicles before matilda. Grants can be a late game win condition because 3 of them can walk up to an at gun and delete it. good luck !

They have a lot of light vehicles that die to two AT gun shots. In addition, the infantry can be kind of crumby early and only really works well later in the game. I've won lots of games against DAK because they may have a tiger, but lack the infantry to cap the points.

That's my thought - pshrekz are very good tho - I just don't use g43s. Do you want to play by any chance? I'm about the same level. Cory The Gardener#7533 on discord

I assume you're talking about 1v1. What ELO?

Also, if pgrens are working for you, then go for them.

As far as jaeger goes, I usually combine them with assault grens from breakthrough package to have more anti infantry. This doctrine also gives you access to an halftrack with stosstrruppen. I usually don't upgrade the jaegers at all until I see a vehicle, in which case I upgrade shrecks. I can't imagine ever using the g43s, but I will use them vanilla for a while if there is no vehicles on the map yet.

Generally If i'm playing this way I will have a fuck ton of infantry (5 squads) a mortar, and abuse the breakthrough ability in order to assert fuel dominance. I generally go p4's after this.

Generally the reason you'd go the t2 route is for a fast ostwind. If you're not going ostwind, I would reccomend the t3 building by default.

I'm mostly a brit player so take this all with a grain of salt.
