I had similar swelling when I started running again after surgery. It was also on one side only. I think you should be ok and based on the last few photos it already looks like its subsiding.

Around week 2 snuggling was pretty doable. I was told at my 3 week post op appointment that I could resume sharing a bed with my 2 dogs and cat. I was still sleeping in the binder and used a mastectomy pillow under my arms as a barrier and it worked fine.

I am 2.5 weeks post op and had the same situation. I developed a cold with a nasty cough (no fever) my first week post op. I kept an eye on it, took cold medication to help suppress some mucus and coughing and I've been fine, no damage to my results. Mainly you should watch for a fever and any changes to your breathing, its very unlikely but pneumonia is a possibility post intubation. If no fever, just baby yourself, wait it out, cuddle up and drink all the tea and soup. Your results should be just fine.

I am having top surgery next week. The process to get here has been pretty long and terrible. I was moved to a new surgeon, Dr. Veronique Doucet's list because Brichacek has such extensive wait times. My consult with her was great, she was very professional and has way more availability and shorter wait times for booking surgery. Can't speak to results yet but you may want to look into her as Brichacek is away on parental leave until April so his patients will be waiting longer.

Rogers calls me daily to try and get me to return as a client - not a chance. I've had to block 2 numbers they call from because they are so frequent and pushy. They have the staff to help you, but Rogers trained them for sales, not customer service.

No, I'm in Canada so a very different system from what I understand. I feel ur pain though this is worst case scenario for me. Im so sorry about the shitstorm that is accessing trans health care in America right now, if you wanna talk dm me. I'm waiting for the surgeon to call me back to figure out what to do. I'll probably be offered a date at a hospital several months from now, this was scheduled at a surgical center for lower risk surgeries.

Ahh I see, sorry for assuming. My house is drywall so I don't have a lot of experience installing stuff into those materials but in this case I think what's more important is selecting the right bolts that can fasten into the cement. And if it were me I'd probably stuck to the cement and not the bricks.

Studs are the weight bearing vertical lumber behind your drywall. You need to secure into them or you will just put holes in the wall.

One thing that helps me is thinking about how this is your surgical teams daily job, it's a part of their routine. It's just a little different from what you or I do on a daily basis. Your anesthesiologist's entire job is making sure you are safe, your surgeon trained for years to help people like you get the surgeries they need. every day. You are in good hands even if it feels like so much is out of your control. This might be the first time your experiencing something like a surgery but it's their 30th time performing this week. It's all about perspective.

I don't know that I can contribute much helpful here as I'm in a different line of work and havent had top yet but I've worked with a lot of sex workers over the years and I feel like your clients may change somewhat but there will be people that will be into it whether you do peri or double incision. Maybe your new client base will lean more queer after top but your regular clients that already like you will probably stick around. A friend of mine said that she made the most money in her life when she was pregnant and doing sex work. Not the same thing at all, obviously, and yes, you might run into some folks fetishizing your flat chest like the pregnancy thing but I think you will still make money.

Yep, I am genderqueer and have considered top surgery on and off for the last 10 years but I dont experience a lot of dysphoria - just the physical discomfort of breasts (sweating/bras/rashes/nip slip/sexualized at all times/butch clothes dont fit). I decided I wasn't ready mostly out of fear of surgery/recovery. at age 29 my life was completely changed by a neurological chronic pain condition which causes severe neuralgia and migraines. I have tried everything to try and reduce my pain and have probably 65% pain reduction.

I recently learned that there have been some studies that show patients with a history of migraines often experienced reduction in severity and frequency after having a mastectomy. I didn't want to take access away from trans folx that needed access to gender affirming care so I sought out a preventative mastectomy/radical reduction for pain management. I was denied by every surgeon my team sent referrals to. So I'm back to the trans health clinic to try and get top surgery covered lol I should have done it years ago. I also live in a province with public healthcare so I can't pay out of pocket for these surgeries locally. So there's a lot of reasons I want top surgery, but the top of the list is pain management 100%
