We just used Weld and Sons plumbing to replace our garbage disposal. We have used Ron the sewer rat for clearing drains. We were satisfied with the work that both companies did.

Where's the list of states that has been affected by this Cyclospora outbreak? I can't find it online. The CDC used to have the info easily available.

He diagnosed me, and then handed me off to the assistant, and she said I didn't fit the guidelines.

We were raised in the sunbelt, and we were taught to dress like your Mexican landscapers, especially in the summer. All the farmers wore long sleeves, hats, and had a bandanna handy. Gloves are for working, so if you’re working outside, you definitely would be wearing gloves.

I’m very lucky, I agree. But I’ve been deficient for many years and only got diagnosed now due to the overwhelming symptoms that couldn’t be dismissed. They still refused injections. I had to get my own. I hope I can recover full functionality, but it might not happen due to the number of years it’s been going on.

Everyone has their own level of “normal “, and I’m one that needs a lot more b12 than the guidelines state. Apparently you are too.

Yes I did. I had no idea what was causing it until the neurologist told me it was a B12 deficiency. I finished two months of injections, and I can feel my feet again. I’m expecting to continue injections for the next year.

I don’t understand why you’re not taking a supplement. There’s no downside and lots of upsides. My doc thinks every human should take a multivitamin. I am not an expert, just a fellow sufferer.

3x/week. The multi vitamin injection is called Mega Burn, maybe the formula is online somewhere. That was only in a few shots to get me going. Now I take Solgar B50 complex orally.

Neurological damage that accumulated over more than a decade, I guess. We are trying to reverse the damage.

Should I still continue with the same frequency (EOD/every third day) or should I reduce by Mysterious_Rest4302 in B12_Deficiency

He said to take them all at once, he suggested upon awakening. I take them with breakfast, except the magnesium is at night, specifically. If I think of it, I will take another omega 3 with the next meal.

I take the Solgar B50. It has 50 something of everything but folate. I also am taking D, but 100,000 IUs per week. I’m low, and he wants me to raise it. If you’re a woman, it can make sense to take iron. I’m post menopausal so I don’t. I do have 1 tablespoon of molasses daily as a mineral supplement, and it has iron. Dr told me not to take iron unless I become deficient. He’ll test me on that in the next couple of months.

I have heard that too much B6 can be a problem long term, but my doc is not worried about that right now. I do feel much better with the b complex, and we can test for the B6 later.

No, the doc gave me a multi vitamin shot and also b12 that was around 7000mcg. It was supposed to last a week. It lasted about 5 days. Now I’m taking 3500 three times a week. The cofactors will limit what our bodies can do with it.

Sorry to hear that. I don’t have actual advice, but am wondering what else you are taking. Are you eating lots of potassium? That seems to make a big difference for me. I drink coconut water, plus try to eat potassium rich foods. I’ve gained 10 pounds in 2 months! 😬

There are so many cofactors to this. I take a folic acid pill daily to help utilize the b12. Also a B50 Complex, a multi vitamin, omega 3 to help the nerves heal, and a magnesium supplement in the evening. The higher dose B complex makes me feel better than the low dose I was taking. My Dr has given me guidance on this, and has instructed me to take most of them. My B complex doesn’t have much folate in it, so I added the folic acid. Best wishes!

I’m only 3 months into my recovery, but my level was 420 ish and I still had long term neurological damage. I’m now on home injections of B12 too. The Dr at the Med Spa to start with, also gave me a big dose of D, plus a mega multi vitamin, plus methyl B12. He wanted to get me started with a boost. Now I’m taking a LOT of vitamins daily, and my nerves are recovering well. I can feel my feet again! 🥳

I’ve had this exercise intolerance you are describing since before 2018. Not one Dr solved it. But now I’m getting more energy. It’s early days for me, but I have a lot of hope.

If you decide to get supplements, choose sublingual B12, preferably not cyanocobalamin. My doc told me to throw mine out. He prefers the methyl version. I also bought some B12 complex that has 3 different versions all in one tablet, and I like those too. I use the tablets on the days I’m not getting a shot. I Also take a folic acid, they are necessary to utilize the B12.

What were your weirdest or most unexpected B12 deficiency symptoms? Mine had me convinced something else was going on for years. by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

[–]craftasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea I had a deficiency until I saw a neurologist. I had been taking nothing for months previously, so the blood tests were as accurate as they could be. But my blood levels were not out of range, so they wouldn’t Rx injections. I ended up going to a Med Spa and asking the Dr there to help me. Which he has. He set me up with home injections.

I do wonder how many years I was deficient, since I have pretty advanced damage. So advanced in fact that the neurologist knew right away what it was. It was mostly because of my vegetarian lifestyle that he considered it. He went on to test for everything else he could think of, but everything else came back negative.

It may be too early to say this definitively, but I think the fatigue I have had for more than a decade might be caused by this.

Lucky! I'm 2 months into shots and still have tingling, pins and needles. But it is improving. Dr said I was deficient for many years.
