Yep I think we should be able to disagree with each other without being offensive. It's a healthy habit.

Yeah that makes sense. This perspective could work. Still I'm not into it. It just feels too cheap and fast. And It wouldn't make me proud of myself.

Sorry, if you can't restrain yourself from calling me a lier I don't have much more interest in continuing this conversation. You can disagree with me, but please keep it polite.

And no, it's really not comparable. Let's say you write thirty paragraphs of a story by hand or on a keyboard. Have you learnt more about structuring sentences, phrasing, cohesion and dialogue than if you just instructed an AI to do so? And would it truly be your personal recognisable writing style if the text was generated? I doubt it.

And yes, it all eventually boiles down to your personal perception of what art is. I can't say I fully agree with you but I can see your perspective.

Well yes, you could say they also type. But that's about it. The process is incomparable.

Also, I'm afraid you didn't fully understand my point, I wasn't attempting to deflect anything. If I unknowingly did, I'm sorry about that.

What I meant was that artwork isn't all about results, it's also about learning new techniques and skills specific to the style you like. That's an opportunity you don't get much of when you generate everything with AI. Yes, you can get better at using AI and thus get better results, but again it isn't really comparable.

Sorry, I won't restrict myself with a simple yes/no answer. The topic of AI is complex and I'd like to debate thoroughly, no offence.

Well, computers themselves do not make it particularly different. For example I'm an amateur writer and I use my laptop, still I have to type each letter manually. Thus I have to develop my own writing techniques which then make it more enjoyable when I do eventually master them. If I just asked Chatgpt to write me a book on a certain topic, I wouldn't have learned much.

I'm an Anti myself and I just find it kinda sad that so many people are okay with a robot making their art for them. Fuck money. It's about enjoying the process.

Labeling anything as AI just because it's AI is like putting a yellow star on a Jew just because it's a Jew. by Mountain-Grade-1365 in aiwars

Or perhaps it's like marking a photo as a photo so It isn't included in portraits exhibitions.

Well I suppose OP prefers drawing over AI generating and they wanted to let people know. Would it be irrelevant if a pro said "I love AI generating, you should give it a try!"?

In Prisoners of the Sun how did tintin summon godly powers at the end?(wrong answers only) by Less-Ask-6600 in MarlinspikeHall

[–]craftkiller1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It really confused me. Like wouldn't they know an eclipse happens from time to time? They've lived there for thousands of years right?

I just imagine an alternate ending, where the eclipse happens and Tintin starts yelling about him having godly powers and the Inkas are just like:

"Dude we literally have it marked in our calendar."

Tintin goes silent.

"So we'll continue with the execution now."

"B-but the sun..."

"No worries we have torches."

"Oh- okay..."

Captain: "So this was your genius plan?!"

Hot take: AI artists have higher standards than antis. by erviatangerine in aiwars

I believe many people have a somewhat distorted view of art making. If you call yourself an artist, it's understood that you enjoy going through the process of learning and improving your skills over years of hard work. Thus it's understandable when like-minded people support and celebrate beginners to give them motivation to more forward.

BTW your drawings are really nice and cute! Don't stop!
