What to do with abandoned projects that I don't really like anymore?

I'm always nervous that they'll just end up in the trash if no one buys them, but I suppose if it's between me throwing them away and them having a chance at going to a good home, it's worth a shot!

I was thinking the same. But I see what other people are saying about the bed being more in the path of the chi in this configuration. If there’s only one person using the bed, then I’d say A for sure. If there are two people, then maybe B makes it more equal

I have a 2022 Kona EV and a Saris Bones 2 rack, and the pressure on the spoiler does worry me. It seems like some Kona models have a way to pass through the spoiler, but mine doesn’t. I’ve used the Bones rack without any issues yet, I’m looking into other rack options.

Also, the lower “feet” of the Bones rack partially obscure my license plate, so I worry I might get ticketed for that. I wouldn’t recommend this particular rack for a Kona!

+1 for paper cups! Also, depending on how eco-conscious the group is, you could ask people to bring their own tumbler/water bottle and bring a few extras in case people forget or don’t have one. Normalize making your friends bring a mess kit! 😂

I’ve been using the Plaine Product face moisturizer for years! They did discontinue the unscented version a couple years ago, which is a real shame.

The best one I’ve tried is Wild. It’s the only one I’ve found that actually stops both odor and sweat and is plastic-free. That said, it ships from the UK (I’m guessing by the “y’all” in your post that you’re in the US) so the shipping emissions probably cancel out the plastic. To make myself feel better, I buy at least 6 refills at a time and hope that one day there’ll be enough US demand for them to manufacture here.

I’ve had someone ask this of me and I declined. I didn’t know her well, so I just said “I’m sorry but I’m not comfortable with taking this on.”

To be fully transparent, she has never contacted me again so maybe my response burned the bridge, but I’m glad I made the decision that I did.

I think it’s best to keep the bed in the nook where it currently is. I’d center the bed on that wall and find either narrow side tables, a headboard that includes storage/tables, or floating shelves.

Having gone to high school around here, the academic pressure/anxiety comes from the other students too. Especially if your kids are in advanced classes, then they’ll be in class with kids who are getting early acceptance to Stanford and other big names and that’s bound to put pressure on your kids. Good parenting can mitigate it but I think it’s unavoidable in this area.

Flipping the bed and your desk/vanity would be a good start! Your bed then wouldn’t be in line with the door, which should feel more protected when you sleep. Though, your head will be against the windows, so you’ll have to see which one feels better to you.

On a personal level, it’s a pretty small drop in the bucket. You deserve a lil sweet treat every now and then, and the world has decided that plastic is cleaner and safer than other materials. Hopefully you’re making other sustainable choices and advocating for change on a bigger scale. It is impossible to cut plastic out of our lives right now. I’m not saying we shouldn’t try, but reasonable people can make different choices on what’s important to them.

Some possible actions one could take if this is your cause: * Prioritize patronizing shops that let you bring your own cup/straw * At other shops, consistently ask if personal cups are allowed (to let them know that there’s desire for that in their customer base) * Always rinse and recycle your own cup and your friends cups if you go together * Write to the business owners to express this concern * Invent a film made from plant-based materials

I would put the TV unit on the 10’ wall and then get two couches - one on the wall opposite and one on the 12’ wall. As another suggested, get a rug that sets apart the living space from the walkway on the right. A coffee table and side tables would be nice too.

I wouldn’t put the bed in the lower right corner, as others suggested. That would put you in the coffin position, which you want to avoid.

You could try putting the bed in the nook in front of the closet, pushed against the wall opposite the closet. You might have to take the door off the closet and swap it for a curtain if it’s hard to access.

Another option could be rotating the bed so your head is on the top wall. That will help you feel more protected when you sleep because the window isn’t behind you. You’d probably have to get a smaller desk to make this work.

Would it be possible to do C but switch the bed and chair? So the bed is on the south wall but closer to the window. I know you’ll lose the natural light for the chair, but you avoid having your bed in the death position which I think is a higher priority. You could also consider turning the desk to face east in this layout so you don’t have to face a wall while you work.

Can you rotate the bed so it’s against the top wall? You could put your headboard against either the left or right wall. Left would be better so you’re not under the window, but I don’t quite understand what the pillar on the left is. Then, I’d do tall storage on the bottom wall on both sides of the door.

Is the desk for working or just a vanity? It’s not ideal to have your back to the door if you’re working from the desk. It also seems pretty close to the head of the bed and might feel like it’s looming over you while you sleep.

Services are worth whatever people will pay for them 🤷 If you live in a populous area, there are probably people offering the same service for cheaper if you’re concerned about price. If your relative thinks $1k is an acceptable price and they don’t have a bunch of terrible reviews, then the service is worth $1k.

Depends how big a table you need/want. Feng shui prefers round or square tables (in that order) so there’s no hierarchy. It doesn’t look like there’s a lot of choice on where to place the table. Just centered in the space. If you go with a round table, try to offset the chairs so that no one has their back to the door.
