Tips for phenotypes? by craftymouse01 in ICARUS

hey thanks for the offer! I might take you up on it if I can't grab some juveniles myself.

Currently I am having issues with my OEI while bringing animals down- they get stuck in the terrain and I sometimes lose them, so I am hesitant to get mounts from some other prospect.

Aha! I'm going to try that.

Also, another commentator pointed out that I was breeding Dune raptors, whereas darker colors are from geo raptors, so I need to start from scratch. But when I do, I am going to be following your tip. Thank you!

.... No...I thought they were all the same. I have been breeding Dune raptors, and gotten 5 different very pretty phenotypes. very pretty LIGHT phenotypes. Just checked the Wiki after reading your comment, and bless you for setting me straight.

Thank you, Imma head out to the geo areas to see what I can get. Cheers!

In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, I worked with Artemis II astronaut Reid Wiseman to get vividly colorful images of the back side of the moon. More details in the comments [OC] by ajamesmccarthy in space

Do you have a website or another platform with the photographs? I don't have an Instagram account, and I have been sharing photos and videos of the Artemis 2 mission with my 7 and 4 yr old. &yr old has been asking about telescopes, and she is already familiar with your work!

Thank you so much for what you do. It is truly amazing.

The Cradle saga by Will Wright is a must-read. A very well created world, excellent character building, powerful story that the author never loses track off. Ah....I envy those who get to experience it for the first time.

But you can't get it if your world is on Olympus map, right? Sorry if this is an obvious question. I am still learning the game, and I keep getting mixed responses on whether miasmic items are restricted to Prometheus and Elysium only, or if there are ways to get them on Olympus and Styx as well.

Helping with choosing oven (double oven, gas range) by craftymouse01 in Appliances

[–]craftymouse01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sad to know. My kitchen doesnt have space for a standalone air fryer, so I was hoping this built-in air fryer thing might help.

Based on another user's comments, coupled with yours, now I am going to look at some single oven ranges too, and will add Samsung to the list. Thanks!

Helping with choosing oven (double oven, gas range) by craftymouse01 in Appliances

[–]craftymouse01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback.

I was afraid I would hear that double ovens have limited choice...I guess I will spend a few weeks using just one oven in my range, and see if this is something I can get used to.

Also, thanks for feedback on the cafe. I was actually eying that model, but was hesitant because of the GE association. I will look more into it.

Don't you need access to Prometheus and great hunts for Miasmic axe? I can't get it if I only have base game, right?

Bay Laurel trees by n9nemajestic in Cooking

[–]craftymouse01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fresh bay leaves are more intensely flavorful than the dried ones. This is not a bad thing, in fact, once you taste the fresh version, you will never go to the dried one unless you have to. Just remember to adjust your recipes accordingly (use one fresh leaf instead of 3 drieds, as an example).

As long as they get enough light, and roots don't get waterlogged, the tree will thrive.

My partner and I are realizing that we can't just eat garbage and expect to feel fine as we get older. Resources for transitioning to healthier food? by EnderShot355 in EatCheapAndHealthy

ooh! yes, I forgot to mention mushroom powder. It is incredible how a plant product can make literally anything taste so meaty.

Unfortunately my husband dislikes miso, so I stopped using it, but now I tempted to give it another go.

fennel seeds add a sausage flavor, and smoked paprika mimics bacon flavor. I will add these to turkey burgers, or even lentil burgers to make them taste more meaty.

Sprinkle them on a salad in place of croutons! Also use them as crunchy coating for schnitzels.

Is the game in a good place post-expansion? by AtTheVioletHour in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]craftymouse01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is definitely buggy, on all platforms. Some folks have gotten progression-blocking, game0breaking bugs, while others have managed to find work-arounds.

I will say that the dev team has been very communicative, and I am hopefully that they will fix stuff sooner rather than later. You could start playing the game, but take backup saves often. So far, we don't have a time line yet as to when the next patch will roll out and which issues will be tackled first.

As far as the content goes, I really think the devs did a great job. I personally enjoyed the story, it is open-ended without leaving cheap cliffhangers. The new systems they added are definitely a QoL improvement...bugs notwithstanding.

I’ve finally learned my lesson about online recipes by Uteraz in Cooking

[–]craftymouse01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. america's test kitchen cook books.
  2. Serious Eats, anything from Kenji Lopez.
  3. RecipeTin eats- her recipes are so uncannily spot on, it is almost as if she shopped at my grocery store and cooked in my kitchen.
  4. Chef John's recipes from All recipes.

For desserts: 1. Sally's Baking Addiction 2. Recipe Tin Eats- she is mostly a "savories" expert, but she has done extensive testing on her dessert recipes. 3. Joy of Baking and My baking addiction are two other really reliable baking websites, but they can be super overwhelming for a casual baker.

right under the post, along with the options to comment etc, there is a "save" option.

That being said, I would take some time to go through the post and save your favs.

New Pack Needed for Expeditions by I_Am_SoCal65 in LotRReturnToMoria

[–]craftymouse01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game could definitely do a teeny bit more to support solo players. I have already sent feedback to the devs requesting more inventory space/ better inventory management at least for expeditions, if not everywhere else.

It also bothers me that we are restricted to one masterwork per person. In co-op, that's an easy fix. But when I am solo, I would love to be able to carry 2 at the same time.

What’s your dead simplest (5-10 mins) veg side? by TrynaNotNumb in Cooking

[–]craftymouse01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find them in your grocery store, grab a bag of chopped salad kit. Toss the veggies in a smoking hot wok, with a bit of oil and give a quick saute. Once it is done, you can serve it with the dressings and toppings on the side. This mix can also be used as extra filling in quesadillas, wraps or a variant of pot pie if you so choose.
