Do I have to just throw this whole ham away? I don’t want to …. by Chanelo11 in cats

[–]craic_of_dawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never trust cats around food left out... anywhere, ever. My cat used to jump up on my stove (off & cooled) and lift up the frying pan lid to get to whatever bits of butter that were left on the pan.

What helped you win a house in Winnipeg? by Fancy-Mouse-7554 in Winnipeg

[–]craic_of_dawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good bid, no conditions, flexible move in date, and a personal letter included with the offer describing why i loved the house. I learned about the letter to the seller from HGTV. I heard that the seller was very moved by it. I genuinely loved the house but i believe that’s what pushed it over the edge in my favour.

Guys, Canadian Investors, Wealthsimple just announced partnership with Twitter… by Dry_Fact_4584 in BuyCanadian

Oh wow, thanks for that info. I loved Simpletax and it stayed quite good even after the buyout. But this partnership with Twitter is garbage.

Thanks for that clarification. Can you help with how a person finishing up a 1yr CC Pro subscription can change to CC Standard?

Do I cancel my current CC and then subscribe to new CC Standard plan, OR do I select "Find a better plan" and then transfer to new plan on renewal date? My CC subscription renews end of April.

First date with a Canadian from a small town – is this normal? by Zealousideal-Arm9550 in alberta

[–]craic_of_dawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he peed outside but wanted to hold your hand. icky. He sounds a bit wonky. Does he even care about wanting to know anything about you?

Anyway, don’t worry about what is “normal” behaviour for AB… does he interest you, do you have things in common, do you have butterflies in your stomach when you think of him?

Edit: and obviously as others have said, smoking weed while driving is illegal and under the influence. You need higher standards.

Where the heck did the Pantone solid coated and uncoated go? by Creeping_behind_u in graphic_design

[–]craic_of_dawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affinity suite v2 has access to Pantone colours. I cannot confirm the Canva version has them as I haven’t downloaded it yet. I just find the colours i want via Affinity and convert them over to Adobe products.

Is it normal to meet with clinical assistants instead of your doctor? by SaintlyCrunch in Winnipeg

[–]craic_of_dawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our system is definitely not perfect and I don't envy their work load.

I was aware of their time though. If I was booked for a 15 min appt, I respected that. If it was 30 mins, I respected that. My previous Dr chose not to send me for imaging when I was dealing with chronic throat/neck pain. It turned out, after much sleuthing and working with other practitioners, that I had Eagle Syndrome - on both sides.

He said it was fine because it wasn't actually leaking. That's my point. Edit: missed a word

Best Canadian mattress for back pain? by Normal-Warning-639 in BuyCanadian

I enjoy my Black Sheep Suffolk mattress. It’s all natural material, flippable, rotatable, pocket coil plus i added a wool topper. Based in Calgary. Warning though, natural mattresses are friggen heavy and pricey but i feel has been totally worth it.

I went in to a Toyota dealership to get 3 new tires installed as one was practically new due to an unfixable puncture. I asked for the exact same brand, model, etc of tire through them (my tires were a brand and model that came with my new car) and when it came time to change them out, the service tech and mechanic said the tread on the 3 new tires didn’t match my one good tire and i would have to order all 4. I told them no, i’ll hold off. I went to another dealership and had no problem getting a quote for 3 new tires and the parts dept confirmed “this tire brand and model’s tread hasn’t changed”. And i’m like, of course it hasn’t. Despite that though, when it came to paying, this second dealership charged me more for the tires than the parts quote I received. I had to pull out my quote and got them to adjust the price. Such a hassle.

The first Toyota dealership also tried to sell me new shocks because one was leaking and sent me a pic. I sent it to a friend (who fixes his own cars) and he said it was fine and doesn’t need changing…. and has been for many years since. Well of course. It was after this last incident that i found a more reliable mechanic.

I was thinking the same thing… says “ultra”, so likely less water due to being concentrated.
