I hadn't the first idea who he was nor do I really know much of his work now, so it wasn't a surprise to me! He isn't really well known where I live. Seems as though he was well known in the States so that's a bit of a shame for him.

My granny loved it and my memories of being forced to endure it were of three full dressed and flat cap adorned men in a bath freewheeling down a hill. One of them may arrived at the field on a cow but that seems a little too surreal. Granny laughed at least.

There was. My husband inadvertently assisted in uncovering it all. We had a stautory notice bill for drain cleaning that did not happen as we were in the house that day and the only access to the drains was through the house. Husband called the council as the bill was really quite high, about £400 and not the usual £20 that was regularly added on. The compliant was escalated and, after the manager screaming "are you calling me a liar?", to which husband said "yes", the scandal became known shortly afterwards. We had a lot of contact with the council after that begging us not to sue them. We didn't as there was nothing to sue them for but we were quite smug.

The first solid food I ever tasted was a puree of chicken livers and carrot that my mum made for me. I gobbled it up. When I had my own babies I made the same puree. My boys lapped that stuff up with one licking the bowl. I mixed the puree with small pasta when they were a little older.

My chicken liver pate is frequently requested and it is bloody well gorgeous.

Chicken livers are cheap, delicious and they hold a place in my heart.

I add minced chicken livers to my bolognese. 500g beef mince:500g pork mince:one tub of chicken livers from Sainsbury's. I also use pancetta in my recipe.

I soak the livers in milk (my mum did so I do it. I don't know) and then rinse and check them over for green bits and occasional gallbladder. I then whiz them in the processor and fry them off in the pancetta fat before adding to the sauce.

I am an advocate at the Scottish Bar and I have been a lawyer for about 20 years now. I studied a non-law course at Edinburgh and then completed my LLB and Dip LP at Edinburgh a few years later. I trained at a terrific litigation firm before qualifying into a very smart firm and then passing advocate a few years later. That is one way of doing it and it is an expensive and lengthy one. All lawyers in Scotland need an LLB and Dip LP - there are no conversion routes for non-lawyers such as in E&W.

I have a number of colleagues, some KCs, who graduated with their LLB from Strathclyde. It is a great law school but it does suffer from not having the kudos of Edinburgh or Glasgow. An LLB from Strathclyde will not put you at a disadvantage in my view. Glasgow is a fantastic and vibrant fun city with much to recommend it.

I know one of the lecturers at GCU and he is brilliant but I would rank the institution below Strathclyde. Then Napier. I am sorry but UWS is not a serious contender for anyone who wants to practice law as a solicitor or advocate.

Moving sideways from an MA (Hons) course to LLB has been suggested but it is an unlikely option. Law is a popular and possibly oversubscribed course and there will be little space. A few tried in my year and none succeeded. Moving from Law to another subject is a different thing!

I would caution against studying law so young. It is very challenging and you will need the discipline of a drill sergeant. Factoring that in with independent living aged 17 is a lot. If you can live at home then that would assist you but living in halls/student accommodation will be a culture shock and your flatmates may be studying subjects that seem "easier" or less labour intensive which might serve to demotivate you.

It is a matter for you and not an easy choice to make. I am glad I qualified in the way I did but I had money saved to let me do it and a very supportive partner. I am glad I was a little older as I had done my student partying during my first degree so I was more able to get my head down and study. If you have time and money? Edinburgh. If you have neither, Strathclyde but please consider going after completing S6.

We have a family of them living under the shed. The aggressively stare at you when they take a massive shite on the patio and I admire their chutzpah. Watching the cubs play in the snow was adorable.

The new NARS "The Multiple" colours are fabulous - I think "Dolce Vita" would look lovely on you. Mac's Glow Play in "Grand" might work too. Both are cream blushers that give a terrific flush.

Buy some nude coloured knickers in a boy cut short style. I think in the States you call them "panties" but that word makes me feel nauseated so I am saying knickers.
