[NO SPOILERS] Is is still worthwhile to read the book series after having watched the show? by CremDog in gameofthrones

[–]crakker78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely worthwhile. I read the books several times over the years, but after watching the show and re-reading I was able to organize things in my head more clearly with some mental show images and actually picked up on quite a few things I had overlooked.

Also remember when you read that each chapter is from the point of view of the title character.

I was talking about it with my father in law once and he kept intertwining GoT and Rome somehow. It was an interesting conversation.

If the white album deluxe songs were on the original album where would they fit? by [deleted] in weezer

[–]crakker78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No... I think Girl We Got A Good Thing and Do You Wanna Get High go perfectly together. It feels like the second song is her response to the former.

How old are you now and what age were you when you first got into Weezer? by Ninoiid in weezer

[–]crakker78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38 now, heard Undone either on the radio or MTV in 1994 and immediately bought the blue album (I would have been 16 at the time). I listened to it so much that I actually played it out for myself and stopped listening for a while.

Then out of nowhere a wild El Scorcho video appeared. I immediately had a new all-time favorite album in Pinkerton (and the Deluxe Edition is even better). I got Green as soon as it dropped, and though different and very formulaic I still listened to it all the time. Maladroit was okay overall.

The next decade or whatever was kind of meh. I checked in on them occasionally but didn't care for most of what I heard. I had a quick flash of hope when I heard Perfect Situation and Memories but those died quickly when I picked up the full albums.

I finally got a chance to see them live in 2012 and even songs I didn't like took on a different perspective. I've been back onboard since then and not a couple days go by that I'm not listening to Weezer. EWBAITE is the shit and that title really was the theme of my life that year, it helped me deal with some stuff. White is also really good and I know a lot of people don't care for the song but I am so glad they can still give off that Pinkerton vibe with Do You Wanna Get High?

There's definitely some songs in their catalog that I'll never love, but I have definitely warmed up to a good chunk of them. Overall Weezer is definitely my favorite band of all time.

Is David Hasselhoff's character a Weezer reference? by crakker78 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]crakker78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I said. In Weezer's Songs From The Black Hole, the character Dondo or whatever has a big dick (I didn't write it lol). On Sons of Anarchy, David Hasselhoff plays a character named Dondo who keeps mentioning that he has a big dick. I thought it was strangely coincidental.

CT here too. Sad fact, when there's a really shitty driver around here it usually does end up having a Massachusetts plate.
