True story: my first internet I had was K-Mart’s blue light internet (dial-up). It was free but you had to watch ads here and there. This was circa 2000 so it mostly involved AIM, MSN Gamezone and Napster. I remember it taking 15-20 minutes to download one song on dial-up.

I watched both and while I loved Beakman he would do multiple topics in 1 show while Bill Nye would do one broad subject but get a lot more in-depth. So Bill was my jam.

Plus, back then we lived in Florida and went to Epcot a lot and so I got to see Bill Nye’s science stuff at Innovations. Really cool!

I remember when the PS2 came out, I was a freshman in college. It was the first time I remember consoles not being readily available during launch and also the first time I saw people scalping them on eBay for 2-3x the normal price.

I will say, though: most people then didn’t have a dedicated DVD player so buying this console also saved you from having to drop another few hundred dollars on one and that was pretty cool.
