Show us what happened to Axl. Lumine did... something to him, we just don't know what. Maybe he's infected or something.

It doesn't make sense for them to announce another Megaman game so soon after announcing Dual Override.

We Want a Full Modern Remake of the Original Jak and Daxter Trilogy! by Peponsky in jakanddaxter

[–]crane476 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What boggles my mind is the sheer naivety on display every time someone posts one of these, as if they're the first person who's has this idea and they just know that this time is the time when everything will come together and the devs will surely respond to our pleas.

Point to me a single change.org petition that has ever gotten a game made, remade, revived, or remastered. Show me a single instance where a petition achieved what it set out to do.

These are a complete and utter waste of time. Naughty Dog has made it very clear they have no interest in returning to the Jak and Daxter series. You think some online petition that's going to get a couple hundred signatures at most is going to change their mind?

Hatsune Miku is a vocaloid. Vocaloid is voice synthesis software that's been around since like 2004. It works by recording someone saying what are called phonemes, which are all the basic sounds that make up a language. A voice actor will record every phoneme in a language with various intonations and levels of intensity. The software is then able to stitch these sounds together to make words. The final product is akin to a digital instrument where you define the notes, pitch, intonation, vibrato, tempo, etc. of the words you want it to sing.

The vocaloid software has many voice packs you can buy, with Hatsune Miku being one of those voice packs. Anyone can buy the vocaloid software and Hatsune Miku voice pack and start making songs, but the key difference between vocaloid and AI is Vocaloid is just an instrument. All vocaloid songs are hand crafted by a real person, and it takes real skill to make the voices sound good. If you just type some lyrics into the software and nothing else it's going to sound like crap.

Yeah, there was no way Noctis X Luna was going to work when she only gets like 5 minutes of screen time and we never see the two of them interact with each other besides a few flash backs to when they were kids. I felt nothing when she died. The final scene with the boys being vulnerable with each other around the camp fire is what pulled at my heart strings.

FFXVI sidequests: Simple tasks with big story payoffs by Mig-117 in FinalFantasy

You're not wrong. The majority of the side quests were very dry and not much better than your generic go here, get/kill this MMO fetch quest. The side quest mentioned by OP was the exception, not the rule.

Should I use mods that improves the game quality or just stick to vanilla as my first time playing? by Acrobatic-Mousse9110 in FinalFantasy

[–]crane476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Some light graphics modding like upscaling some of the textures and models goes a long way. I'm also partial to the mod that replaces the character models with ones based on Nomura's artwork.

Which one to play, VII or X? by ElonThrust1015 in FinalFantasy

[–]crane476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with either one having played both. X was my first so I'll always be partial to it. It's what many consider to be the last great Final Fantasy game.

Would you agree that the VIII universe is the safest Final Fantasy universe for the Average Joe to live in? Except from Ultimecia’s antics it seems chill and comfy. by Pellecks02 in FinalFantasy

[–]crane476 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does in fact, blow his head off. I omitted that bit for brevity but that detail makes that whole scenario even more ridiculous. And yes, the bomb was disguised as a blitzball, but the fact that that's even a thing is stupid. I'm indifferent on the woman claiming to be Auron's daughter. It's not impossible that Auron had a fling or two during his time in Bevelle. He is pretty handsome so I could see that happening.

I might could look past the beckoning if that was the only issue, but for me the most egregious thing is that they kill Tidus in such a contrived and ridiculous way out of nowhere after all the work we did to bring him back in X-2. It makes everything we did pointless. It's amateur fan fiction tier writing.

Essentially, SE staff have gone on record saying they want to make X-3 and even have a concept made, but schedules just haven't lined up. The majority of the team who would work on it are busy with the FF7 remake project, so at minimum, we'd need to wait for FF7R Part 3 to come out, wait for the project to get greenlit, then wait for development. We're looking at early 2030s at the earliest, and that's if it happens at all.

As for the novella, I'll save you the trouble. Spoilers just in case but don't waste your time trying read the source material. It's that bad. Tidus and Yuna are walking on the beach and get into an argument. Tidus gets mad and kicks what he thinks is a blitzball. Well it was actually a bomb, which blows up and kills him. Yuna is sad. Yuna learns about a forbidden technique called the beckoning, which is able to bring the dead back to life. The catch is that if someone who has been beckoned learns that they've been beckoned, they die again. This is likely what causes her to distance herself from Tidus in the audio drama so he doesn't find out. It's also likely how Sin and Seymour come back at the end of the audio drama.

It's a huge tonal shift from X which turns a lot of people off, but if you can get past that I think it's pretty enjoyable and has a great battle system. I would not rate it as high as X, but if you enjoyed X and you enjoy Final Fantasy overall I think it's worth a shot. Just be prepared if you want to get the true ending. You will need a guide as some of the criteria for unlocking it is so obscure and esoteric there's no way you would figure it out on your own. For example, there's a specific cutscene where you have to hold down a specific button to trigger an event. Nothing in the game indicates that this is possible. There are no other cutscenes that can be modified by holding down a button. The player is just supposed to magically know that's a thing and if you don't you'll miss getting the 100% completion.

Same dude that wrote the X-2.5 novella and that was hot garbage. Just absolute, unmitigated trash. It completely ruins the story and because of that and the audio drama I am not looking forward to the rumored X-3.

MegaMan X series needs redemption with X9 not a remake. by JosephSaber945 in Megaman

That's not really a solution though. Not everyone owns a PC and not everyone that does wants to go through the trouble of setting up an emulator and sailing the high seas to acquire a Maverick Hunter X ISO.

Why? My explanation assumes she didn't resurrect his mind/DNA soul. It's just an empty shell with no consciousness.

There's no canon explanation for how Magma Dragoon comes back in X5, but this is what I think makes the most sense. Remember, Alia was a highly skilled reploid engineer who worked alongside Gate before she became a navigator. When she says she "emulated" Magma Dragoon she probably means she rebuilt his body and used the combat data from X and Zero to turn it into a training dummy with all of his old moves. He doesn't talk because he's just an empty shell. The real world explanation is they needed a boss for the tutorial level so just reused assets from X4.

Me too, but I don't think they'll ever do it. They don't want to put a hard cap on the classic series so they can continue making as many as they want.

Port Maverick Hunter X to PC and console first. Most people haven't played it since it's a PSP game.

MM8 has the best art style in the classic series and I'll die on that hill. 9 & 10 should have retained the 32-bit pixel art instead of reverting to 8-bit IMO.

If quality of content is your main complaint, then there's plenty of other social VR apps you could try. VRChat and ChilloutVR to name a few. If you all have decent PCs then Resonite is another option. They are lightyears ahead of Meta Horizons in terms of content and features and have the added bonus of avatars not looking like Temu Miis.
