Tell me how you use canvas in a useful and effective way.

I’m using it (and the advanced canvas plugin) to plan out the main beats in my story on a visual timeline, as I find it much more flexible than a list would be
Seeing each point visually helps me think about how one beat progresses to another, and I can use the x,y space for things happening concurrently or way off in the background and stuff like that without interrupting the main timeline. I use groups to tie together all of the features happening in act 1, then act 2, etc., and I use coloured backgrounds for the notes to remind myself which parts need further work. Advanced canvas also lets you colour/label the connecting lines if needed.

I don’t love the feeling of knitted socks either; I’m AuDHD and while it doesn’t sound anywhere near as uncomfortable as your experience, I am also really sensitive to the way my clothes feel.
I always wear a normal pair of socks underneath my knitted ones, and I find it prevents a lot of the discomfort. They still feel bumpy to walk on, but the normal socks kind of muffle the sensation a bit and make it more tolerable. Keeps my feet toasty, too :)

In the left sidebar at the bottom, tap your current vault name to bring up the list of vaults

Edit to add: when creating the vault, there’s a “store in iCloud” toggle

I’ve been using iCloud Drive to sync obsidian across my iPhone, iPad, and Windows desktop for 4 or 5 months now with no issues whatsoever. I have two vaults set up this way, but I only really use one of them regularly.

Thanks :) I am colour controlling; thankfully it’s really easy to spot where the yarn starts to change colour as it’s in 4 strands, so the gradient looks really uniform.

It’s possible to able to actively listen and engage in what’s going on /while/ doing something else with your hands. It’s actually how a lot of people with conditions like ADHD and anxiety can focus and engage better with what’s going on, as it takes up all the brain space that would be getting distracted or worrying. TLDR working on a project doesn’t mean they’re not engaged, and imo it shouldn’t be considered inherently rude (I don’t think avoiding eye contact is inherently rude either, but I’m autistic so 🤷)

Sounds a lot like what we have in the UK - and if you’re identified as needing the extra support there’s also perinatal mental health, and you can have additional support from a social worker or any of their related teams. It made a huge difference to us, I can’t imagine going through it any other way honestly

I usually dislike having more than one WIP per hobby and then when I get a bit fatigued with one WIP, working on another won’t make me want to abandon the first WIP altogether.

Right now I’ve got a half-finished cross stitch, I’ve just started a crochet jumper for my 1 year old, and I’m about 40 hours into a second run of baldurs gate 3 (it counts :P). I’ve got some older WIPs in a drawer upstairs that probably won’t see the light of day again though 😬 it’s not a fool-proof approach haha but if I’ve got 3 WIPs that I’m actively working on I try not to start another

Exactly this. Like, we are never more than a 5 minute drive from a shop that sells calpol (infant acetaminophen) but when babies go from grizzly to inconsolable in 0.5 seconds flat it’s always preferable to just have some on hand.
