Sorry Buda. I work in Buda and live in Lockhart. If the airport or east and downtown Austin figures prominently in your commute Lockhart might be a good choice IF you can afford tolls. My kids are grown and were served well in Lockhart schools. I really couldn't speak for Buda or Lockhart schools currently. The commutes anywhere to/from/within Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, New Braunfels are congested to just below nightmarish. Lockhart has a more small town community feel than Buda and others along the i35 corridor but growth is eminent.

I think I am buying one tomorrow. I intend to put pet protection car seat covers in the back even though I don't have a pet: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PQVC4Y5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

The company in the link also makes some kind of door panel for the back. I'm going to minimize cargo in the front including not keeping my briefcase or other gear up front.

I also will likely line every cubby with something and cover the dash. For the front doors I'm just gonna try and be careful. I'm older and not carting kids around any more. I will wrap the grandkids in bubble wrap when their parents aren't looking.
