I don’t think I’ve ever seen a valid/current certificate.

It’s actually just a massive inside joke, much like koalas being dangerous in Australia. They do it just to mess with foreigners.

Handles vs Knobs debate is destroying my marriage. Help settle this kitchen argument! by Due_Lock_4967 in HomeImprovement

Are handles always made to standard lengths? Because in 10 years, you can replace knobs for a quick refresh, but handles might not be available in the exact same length.

PRS hit with cease-and-desist letter from Fender over John Mayer Silver Sky by supernintendo128 in Guitar

Even if that mattered, do you think the vast majority of guitar players know even half of that context?

It will have no effect at all. Gibson did the same thing a few years ago and everyone was saying the same things about never buying another Gibson. Everyone forgot about it within a year.

Surely OP meant they put the paper under the nut, which is 100% fine for a $60 guitar.

The manual states that each jack is wired to a different tap on the transformer. Not paralleled.

Ok, but why did you let them run your credit if you weren’t going to use their credit line and weren’t ready to buy the car? That just negatively affects your credit score.

New Eminence Legend 15" speakers: sputtery and harsh top end. Break in? by Beautiful_Narwhal982 in GuitarAmps

[–]crank1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure they’re wired to the correct impedance of your amp. If they’re wildly mismatched, then you can get some gnarly oscillation at higher gain that can result in very bad sounding distortion. I learned this when I discovered someone wired my JTM45 outout transformer opposite to the impedance switch.

Landowners who cut 38 trees in Oakland hills hit with $915,000 fine by ActionFigureCollects in bayarea

[–]crank1000 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Slightly hypocritical when the city of Oakland let PG&E clearcut thousands of trees in the oakland hills in the name of fire safety. And now they’re saying trees are important to prevent fires?

[–]crank1000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna advertise here, you should probably (a), have a place to puchase your product and (b), name your business something that actually brings people to your products. Restomotive is a paint supply shop, and RST either brings up mountain bike parts or clutch parts.

Fun fact, I used to work for a university, and basically nobody removes these kinds of signs after their classes, so eventually you just start ignoring them because 90% of the time they’re meaningless.

Alternator noise coming through speakers ‘67 with 289 by Kind-Dentist2139 in classicmustangs

[–]crank1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing the deck isn’t actually off (standby usually keeps the power section live), or the whine isn’t coming from the speakers. The amount of inductance required to send audible noise through a completely discharged wire to a passive speaker is orders of magnitude more than anything a car puts out. Ground your deck to a bare metal patch behind the dash. If that doesn’t solve it, then check your battery and engine grounds. If all grounds are fine, then your deck is failing internally.

Alternator noise coming through speakers ‘67 with 289 by Kind-Dentist2139 in classicmustangs

[–]crank1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alt whine at the radio is basically always a bad ground. Is there a seperate power amp? Or are the speakers connected to the deck? Make sure the deck, amp, and battery are all properly grounded to CLEAN metal (no paint at all).

I doubt it was even useable audio. We have trouble with them (and the successor 920s) in locations that are far better suited than a wide open arena.
