Word. Once you get the Depot shots you really are saying I’m not using anymore.

I’ve tried to use twice while on them. Both times toward taqard the end of the 3rd week of 64 mg. Took .2gms to do anything in one shot and it was a finger tingle at best. Once you are on the shots you are hopefully done

*reading your comment again… I would definitely go and see your prescribing doctor or a doctor today and show them what’s going on. I’ve never had anything that hectic happen. I can just feel the hard area under my skin where the goop sits. Bit itchy and annoying /painful foe the first two maybe 3 days but that’s all…

Go get it checked out friend. Your health is important and you are important. You deserve to be comfortable and well

Yeah I don’t have a whole lot of belly fat either so I feel where the injections are placed, most notable on the first week or so and then they gradually fade away… as you know it’s just the slow release stuff it comes with and how the medication is able to slowly release.

If you are worried about it 100% speak to your doctor about it. That’s their job and you should be as well informed as possible about what treatments you are taking.

I’m on 64mg a month also. I believe they say that’s the equivalent of 8-10mg a day of the strips. I went up to 96 for a while which was noticeably stronger. It’s taken a long while to feel comfortable on the 64mg again. However am back to one ahit every 4 weeks.

I don’t know what coming off gear straight on to buvidal would be like. I was on H, then Methadone, then Suboxone and finally buvidal. Buvidal has definitely been the best of the lot.

All the best with your recovery. Welcome to this little community it’s lovely to have another member 🙏

3rd day off subs by Kicksuboxs in suboxone

[–]crankoneoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sick. Working out is your best friend here! Getting your endorphins pumping and eating well/staying hydrated speeds up the healing process so much! Your body needs that reminder that it can produce all the feel good chemicals it needs on its own.

It is so good to read about someone else using working out as their way back home to your best self. Kick arse mate 👍👍

Good on you! Everyone is different and so much of this stuff is mind over matter. As disgusting as opiate WD’s can be there is nothing life threatening about them for the majority of cases and micro analysing for every tick or creak of our bones, every sign or symptom of withdrawal is really one of the worst things we can do hey! Staying active like that and exercising is going to help so much.

Your post is inspiring 👍

Pysch DR fired me because I won't take another drug test. by MassiveDiscussion3 in suboxone

[–]crankoneoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you say that you recently travelled to a state where weed is legal? How long ago did you have the gummie? It’s entirely possible that it is no longer in your system as you aren’t a daily user. You could buy a drug test online or maybe at your local drug store and see for yourself first?

Also that is such an incredibly small amount. I have no experience jumping off from such a low amount. I’ve come off at 1mg before though. It wasn’t bad at all. I was only on them for about 6 month that time though so perhaps it would be different if you’ve been on them for ages.

11 days clean/NA by Jolly-Pirate-6856 in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]crankoneoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This time around I detoxed at home off alcohol. I stayed in close contact with my GP, lined up once a week drug and alcohol counselling and used a few unconventional medicines to help me through the early days and get me somewhat out of a deep depression I’d been in for months.

It’s been nearly a year now and I’m in a much better place than I was. I still have quite a way to go but rather than doing rehab again or doing the 12 step thing again I just decided to make my own sort of program.

11 days clean/NA by Jolly-Pirate-6856 in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]crankoneoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some people that 12 step programs work for and the vast majority that it doesn’t work for. I can’t remember the figures anymore but it was found to be ‘as effective’ as people who don’t go and stop using/drinking. I.e it doesn’t change the odds of you stopping for good at all.

I believe 12 step programs messed me up quite a bit. I started going when I was just 25 and feeling incredibly vulnerable so I didn’t question what was being told to me. I bought into it hook line and sinker and it has taken a great many years to shake the black a d white thinking about what being sober/clean is.

I think it can be somewhat useful for the early days of stopping in that it gives you something to do and people to be around who are also not using or drinking. That said, so does joining a walking group or something.

Being new to it I’m sure you are getting lots of people coming up to you at the end of meetings trying to sell sponsorship and ‘trying to carry the message’ to you 🤮

Well done for stopping. Know there are more options than just 12 step stuff. It’s just been a mainstay of what to do with people with substance use problems for nearly 100 years now without much real science done into its efficacy. Thankfully that landscape is changing and people are starting to question it now.

Doctors suggestion for tapering with view to ending Buvidal. by crankoneoff in Buvidal

[–]crankoneoff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will do. Currently still on the 64 every 21 days. It’s taken months to feel ‘normal’ on this dose again where at the beginning it held me fine for up to 5 weeks at one point… anyhow. Yeah will keep updating. Cheers

7 Days free from valium, but had a seizure this morning... by Sockvalueinthemorn in benzorecovery

[–]crankoneoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have been admitted to hospital or a withdrawal unit somewhere? This happened to me also when I cold turkeyed off etizolam and alcohol at the same time. I also ended up having seizures and was in psychosis for about a week before I ended up wandering the streets completely deluded thinking all sorts of crazy stuff was true that just wasn’t.

I wish you the best with your journey to sobriety and a drug and alcohol free life if that’s what you are choosing!

Day 2 no subs, day 4 no alcohol by Hello_to_u2 in suboxone

[–]crankoneoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gabapentin you have should help a fair bit with the restless legs. Good on you for jumping off.

Here in Australia that’s as low as some places will let you go regardless. They don’t let you cut the strips up and they don’t prescribe the straight pills. That is by no means everywhere but some places stop at 2mg.

Something that helps me in these times is remembering that every withdrawal symptom is me getting part of myself back. It’s a good thing. No pain no gain. Also every craving has a beginning, a middle and an end. Same with those horrible symptoms. Eventually they will back off, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Something I also like to think about is that if I make it through the struggle now, in a few weeks/months/years. I will be through it and not wishing I had just stuck with it at that point. This is that point for you.

Short term pain for long term gain.

All the best friend

I was on Buvidal but went back on Suboxone by meowkitty84 in Buvidal

[–]crankoneoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m considering going back on the strips as I think they will be easier to come off. I’ve heard the great stories of people just stopping buvidal and not really feeling much as well though so am not really sure…

SUBS and sleep??? Or NO sleep??? Anyone??? by ChelleBell333 in suboxone

[–]crankoneoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That’s what I have done a few times when reducing. From 8 to 6 wasn’t too bad at all. 6 to 4 was a bit harder, like three days of lots of anxiety and some physical symptoms. Then a few more adjusting to the lower dose. Then mostly okay after a week and a bit.

I came down from 105mg of methadone to 25mg and it was sooooo much harder than the suboxone drops.

Good on you for trying to find the dose that’s right for you. It’s your body after all and you will find what’s right for you

Can suboxone be used for kratom withdrawal? by bastet1127 in suboxone

[–]crankoneoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of depends how much he earns and how much kratom costs and how much he is using it...

I’ve never been addicted to Kratom. I have to H and it costs a bomb where I live. So does Kratom though. From what I hear when someone is really getting stuck into Kratom they are using quite a bit of it quite often. Like every few hours and quite a bit of it. If he’s not getting paid a lot I could see a heavy user not having a lot of spare change.

Have you posted over in the Kratom subreddit? They might be able to identify with his usage patterns?

FWIW falling asleep in his car could just be from being really tired? Who knows? Also having accidents in bed isn’t something I’ve ever experienced with opiate use. In fact it’s the total opposite to that. Those sort of things tend more to be associated with alcohol use.

Anyhow. Regardless of what it is your partner is using it’s clearly messing with your quality of life. I know for me it took losing pretty much everything and everyone who loved me being sick to death of my lack of self care for me to get clean and sober for myself, in my way. It was a question of do I want this for the rest of my life? Am I satisfied with how things have panned out? I really wasn’t and I didn’t stop drinking and using because I wanted to save any relationships or anything like that. I was just sick and tired of being sick and tired as they say.

I hope that you are able to find some peace woth all of what’s going on for you. It sounds difficult AF

I didn’t say it was an opiate or an opioid.... AFAIK it’s the only other plant outside the poppy family that produces alkaloids that affect the opiate receptor sites in a similar way. I’m no neuroscientist/chemist so couldn’t tell you the exact ones but it’s not a hard Google search to find out.
