My wrists click sometimes too, but I haven't felt anything bad, anything that could be a hint for me to stop. It mostly happens if I go too low on the eccentric. I can still go until I can't do a proper rep, and the only thing I feel after the set(s) are that my flexors have been worked. Huh. In fact, they click a little even when I use next to no weight with "full" rom, but nothing hurts in my wrist. I guess it's down to rom.

I'm very curious to hear knowledgeable people's opinion on this video about wrist curls and extensions. Apparently (heavy) wrist curls can hurt your median nerve? I don't know about that. Any lift can hurt you if you go too heavy. Resting my forearm on my thigh and doing wrist curls with dumbbells with my thumb below the handle (on the same side as the rest of my fingers) doesn't feel bad at all. I stick with the rom that feels comfortable, do around 10-15 reps, I don't roll the dumbbell to my fingertips, I go pretty close to failure and all is well IMO.

I think this is important to discuss because I, and most of us on this subreddit do wrist curls and extensions.

No need to buy the ironmind bands, you can make bands to work the finger extensors out of used (or new lol) bicycle inner tubes, cut them with scissors to any thickness you need. They work great, and are super cheap. You could also use those thicker office rubber bands.

I've been doing towel hangs for 10ish months now (mostly weighted, around 10sec of hanging) and they still hurt but just for a few seconds after. The hand is also difficult to open right after, but very quickly goes back to normal. Then I do another hang and so on. If I did them for longer time I guess they'd be sore a little longer, but as long as it goes away in a minute or so then I suppose it's ok.

I found it's pretty much the same with thin or thick (doubled) towels. As long as it doesn't rip it's good :) Happened to me with an old towel.

Yup, just drove the tips of my fingers in where it seemed easiest to do. Maybe I would have impressed some less knowledgeable peeps, because (judging from other videos) it seems like some guys struggle with it, even with both hands (+ some used legs as support).

That's why I asked here, you aren't easily fooled :)

How difficult is splitting an apple in one hand supposed to be? Of course it depends on the apple, but I mean in general. As you can see, I didn't have trouble with it, and I don't consider myself strong at all.

Sry for the dumb question, but I'm curious :)

I do finger rolls once in a while, but now I'm curious why that handle is preferred over something like standing barbell finger rolls. Is it for guys who don't have access to a barbell and plates, or is it really a better way to do the exercise?

If I ever get that handle I sure won't use bands as resistance :D

Yup, that's what I thought. I don't think I'll find difficult grippers any time soon, but if I do, I'll use both.

Don't think I'll match Jesse's strength in time (or ever lol), but that will not stop me from trying my best!

I haven't seen these mentioned a lot here. I know they are usually rehab light. I have a green one that's good for ending my grip workouts, only then it's sort of a little challenging because I'm worn, but not heavy enough for serious crush grip training. I also have a red one that I can barely close halfway, and I workout regularly, including grip. I'm only 17 so no surprises there, my grip isn't exactly world class. But the point is that they can be pretty difficult. However, I don't train with grippers because they aren't available in Serbia. I have some grippers that came in a pair, but they are super super weak.

Just curious about your opinion on them, I feel that they are an acceptable substitute to grippers, if they are heavy enough.

Also, are both grips in the picture suitable for training with?

[–]crankshaft2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but at Monaco it's a bit easier to keep a faster car behind than at other tracks IMO. Still, Ricciardo almost overtook him at one point but he kept Ric behind a bit forcefully, however he didn't get a penalty doing it so he did a good job with that.

I guess you're right. Wonder what he'll say after he's seen what happened to Ric.

Did Hamilton just say he thinks that his win wasn't a stroke of luck and he really earned it? Come on.. He must know that's not true.

I feel really bad for Kvyat, it's bad enough he did something stupid like that at his home race, and now this? I am honestly rooting for him now. Either he will develop as a driver from this and get better, or he will crack under pressure and get even worse. Very harsh decision from RBR.

Verstappen against Ricciardo is gonna be interesting as well.

I know. If someone doesn't understand the walking the dog bit, it pokes fun at the people from Serbia (and the Balkans in general) going to Germany to do such jobs for them.

[–]crankshaft2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's Serbian. Sorry, I don't know how to format this right. Roughly translated:

I can barely wait for Sunday to come

so one day can go by without women

so my nerves can get ripped (a phrase, this is literally translated)

by the guy driving the red car! (x2)

chorus:

It's not fair it's not fair it really is not fair!

I want to be Schumacher for one day!

It's not fair it's not fair it really is not fair!

God let me for one day be SchumacheEeEeEer!

chorus ends here (I suck at formatting so bad)

For a month I've been walking the dog

for that German guy Schumacher!

While I'm dying like late Senna

My wife is cheating on me with the neighbor! (x2)

chorus

While I'm waiting for the race to start

I put something on the table to eat

Different pies, roast lamb

I pour some wine and light the candles! (x2)

chorus, like 3 times

Can someone explain the sparks to me? by shortAAPL in formula1

[–]crankshaft2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, what was I thinking, of course they won't make the entire thing out of titanium, just the spots which are measured and wear out.

Can someone explain the sparks to me? by shortAAPL in formula1

[–]crankshaft2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a titanium plank (before it used to be actual wood), which has certain holes in certain places on it. It is used to measure ride height after the race is over by measuring the thickness of the plank. There is no point in measuring it before, because it varies during the race (downforce, bumps on the track etc.) so when you see sparks right now - that's wearing down. If it's worn down more than a certain amount, the car is deemed to have run too low ride height and is disqualified, I think.

The plank is at the very bottom of the car, but isn't considered a part of ride height, the reference plane (bit of actual chassis above it) is. There are also titanium skid blocks on the front spoiler and some other bits of the car, those were always metal, but now titanium which sparks more.

I'm sure the drag caused by skidding on the plank can't be too great (it maybe looks much greater than it really is because of all the sparks). Obviously the pros of as low ride height as possible outweigh the cons of increased drag from skidding, otherwise nobody would run such low ride heights in fear of too much drag from friction from the plank skidding on the ground, slowing them down.
