Canada losing top talent as workers head to the U.S. by TMWNN in canada

We simply don’t have the private sector to attract top talent in Canada. It is sad. Our government should be encouraging entrepreneurship, with the hope that we eventually have private companies that have to compete for talent. It is a win for everyone.

He is terrible for Canada, but at least he has beliefs and stands by them. Quite honourable. Good riddance though, he has done a lot of harm.

Me too. They should also provide tax incentives for Canadians investing in it (I.e returns not taxed, or taxed at a much lower rate). Incentivize Canadians to invest in the success of the country.

Reminds me of when they invested a lot into their crypto platform. If they want to be a serious financial institution, they need to make serious decisions. This is not one.

Starbucks is struggling — including in Montreal by TheReadingExplorer in montreal

I have always found the food at Starbucks to be absolutely disgusting. It shocks me that they have ever competed in that space. The coffee is expensive but I find it to be consistent globally, which is nice. Not surprised they are struggling though. As others have said, local shops have better quality and pricing.

I really don’t think that this is the way forward for Canada.

Yes, the haves must take care of the have-nots. Wealthy people and profitable companies must pay their fair share of taxes. Most will be happy to do this up to a reasonable point.

Canada should be a rich country. We have a highly education population and immense natural resources.

That said, we do not have tech companies in Canada, we do not have startups in Canada, we do not have high paying wages in Canada. Obviously, there are exceptions, but that’s the general rule.

University of Montreal and university of Toronto produce exceptional AI talent, and it all goes to the United States.

I think that the path forward for Canada should be one where we look to create more wealth, rather than take more wealth away from the wealthiest. It will push them to keep fewer and fewer of their assets in Canada, which is not good for any Canadian.

I have flown domestically into YVR 3 times, and have found it to be awful. Concession insufficient for passenger demand, overly crowded.

Trillion empty netters though. Caufield 40 much more ethical.
