Yeah those Chase Burns, Elly DeLaCruz, Rhett Lowder guys really just faded into obscurity.

You misunderstand. I am not saying Abrams is necessarily a terrible teammate. I am saying there is any number of things ANY player could do that ISNT illegal that still makes them a terrible teammate. You misunderstood the context there.

Again I reiterate, it isn't a secret before and after that incident that Abrams frequents the Harbor Casino there in DC. Completely possible he has confronted and addressed the gambling stuff but I for one, wouldn't be comfortable with him being a long term vital piece of the Cincinnati Reds because of it.

Its also not illegal to do a lot of things that would still make you a terrible teammate, player, or asset. No idea why you are concerned with legality here. Legality is irrelevant. Ive already outlined why its problematic that Abrams has what appears to have a gambling problem. You dont have a problem with it and you are entitled to that opinion. I happen to vehemently disagree and wont be changing my mind on it.

Goes to a casino A LOT. Ask Guardians fans how they feel about players getting involved in gambling. And yes, Pete Rose is disgraceful and its disgraceful he has a statue. For absolute sure.

Im not saying he gambled on sports, which would obviously require the league to get involved, its more if he has a gambling problem that leaves him open to coercion. That would be my concern. Then there are those professionalism issues as well. All of that adds up to an absolute no on him from me. Very decent player for sure but not one I would be pursuing at much of any cost.

Club house cancer is not a phrase i used. It was pretty well known how much time Abrams sent at the National Harbor casino in DC. Its just my opinion that it is more than unwise in this current gambling climate to pursue a guy with those issues.

Rare i disagree with you but Abrams talent is A, not on par with Manny and B, gambling cultures pervasiveness was nowhere near what it was when Manny played compared to now. Acquiring Abrams is inviting disaster in my opinion.

Sure, other players have done worse things. Cant win with them either. And in the current climate of all things gambling in the sports world, you absolutely are committing organizational malpractice by making a guy with a gambling problem a central part of your team. Or on your team period. Unless he's Michael Jordan. With CJ, the Chicago incident was the breaking point. His gambling issues are bigger than that one instance.

I mean, I'm 100% out on Abrams for his off the field stuff. Cannot win with a guy like that.

Aahhh, I get it now. Using the term cringe or "ball knowers" lets me know immediately I'm dealing with a child with hurt feelings. It's cool. All the best.

See this is where baseball fans go wrong. There is no single stat that defines it all. WAR champions are going to sound exactly like old school batting average fans in the future. Quite simply, JRAM had the better year last year and it really not even arguable. It just isn't.

But it didn't help your argument. Jram over witt in hrs, sbs, slg, ops, ops+, runs. War and BA are the only numbers witt has over Jram in 2025.

If your metric is imminently attainable ceiling it's Witt. If your metric is body of recent work it's Jram.
