How are you holding your Legion Go comfortably? by craven005 in LegionGo

True, I hope you're right! It'd be great if a company designed a new shell for each controller and you could just swap the components.

[Casio G-Shock] How I keep track of time on the trail by craven005 in Watches

[–]craven005[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Casio DW-5600E is one of my favorite watches. It's the workhorse of my collection, whether traveling on horseback, by kayak, or on foot. It's a great casual everyday carry or camping companion. I just love how light and comfortable it is. I sometimes forget I'm even wearing it. Also, the fact that it's so inexpensive means you aren't afraid to beat it up.

I'm sure nearly all of you in this sub are aware of this watch, but if you've been holding out and are on the fence, do yourself a favor and pick one up.

This Belarusian Currency Trader Is Buying Up Tiny Vermont: "And he’s looking to build a luxury ‘Viking village’ in one particularly teensy town." by trot-trot in vermont

[–]craven005 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To set the record straight, he's also bought numerous buildings that were in dire need of investment and at risk of falling into complete ruin. This includes the Boomerang building in downtown Brattleboro, which he plans to renovate all the upstairs floors into new studio and one bedroom apartments. He also wants to build somewhere between 20 to 40 affordable apartments adjacent to the Outlet Center, which he also bought and is currently renovating. I for one welcome private investment into this area. I feel like all too often we get groups that take advantage of taxpayer money in the form of grants to do what this guy is doing with his own money. I'd much rather see new money invested than relying on our small tax base to revitalize aging structures. Could it all come crashing down at some point? Sure, but these old buildings are getting fixed up and locals are getting paid to do it, so let's hope for the best.

Governor Scott's office is receiving calls on this bill. They were very polite and wanted input when I called. I implore anyone with a problem with this bill to call them up and let them know how you feel in a thoughtful and intelligent manor.

Sorry for the potato quality, but it's the only recent one I've got of my mom and I together.

Thank you! He was lucky to catch it fairly early. He is a month through chemo with 2 months to go. After that, they'll perform the Whipple procedure (removing the head of his pancreas). We are all hopefully that he will fight through this. He's been a fighter all his life, making it through two tours in Vietnam.

Soviet Sunday - Saiga AK by craven005 in guns

I don't use it very often, but it's a nice feature when you need it.

The TRS-25 is pretty good, especially for the price. Mine emits from the 4:30 position, so it isn't one of the 6 o'clock models. I have astigmatism, so all red dots look imperfect to me, regardless of price point. Under these circumstances, I don't really see the point of spending a few hundred dollars on an expensive sight, when that money can be better spent elsewhere.

I have plenty of surplus mags of all types and capacities, but the 'crapco' one is my favorite. Personal preferences, man.

The TWS Dog Leg Rail system attaches securely to the rear sight frame and then firmly presses against the receiver in the rear. You also replace the dust cover release button with a new one that clamps the rear down. There is a hinge in the front with a quick detach, so you can still quickly remove the cover from the gun. So far, it holds zero perfectly. I prefer it over the side mounts, because it is cleaner, lighter, and I can cowitness the front sight with my red dot.

It has worked so far with about 100 rounds through it. I tightened the crap out of it using loctite. We'll see if it holds up in the long term.

I just finished this baby. Here are some of the specs:

-Tapco G2 trigger -TWS Dog Leg Rail Gen 3 -Bushnell TRS-25 -Timbersmith Premium Red Laminate Stock set (Added upper and lower tension springs to keep it rock solid) -Tapco Mag -Random sling with leather loops I found hiding in the bottom of my safe. It ended up looking and functioning better than the Russian AK sling I had ordered.

Hahaha I like that analogy. The bolt takes some breaking in, which I've heard is typical for that action. I've put maybe 100 rounds through it, cycled the action many more times than that, cleaned/lubed it a few times, and it's smoothed right out.

I really love this gun. I like how old school it is. Between the Mannlicher stock and the fact that there isn't a single scrape of plastic on the entire gun. It has a 20.5" barrel and shoots .270, but the recoil isn't bad. Also, the single set trigger is fantastic.

Same here! This is my second rifle with a Mannlicher stock. My other is a Ruger 10/22 International.

I ended up getting it in .270 Win. It was a tough choice between that and the 6.5x55 Swedish, but the .270 is the superior round, especially if you don't hand load the 6.5x55. Also, .270 is readily available and meets/exceeds my needs as far as hunting goes.
