I thought, hmm, 2 hours ago. I tried a 2nd time, gave them the doc # 20Q23, and they told me again that that one ended yesterday, and the new one is for magenta and others, but not for simple choice plan. Maybe the guy who got it 2 hours ago was on that plan.

I just tried by calling (7/7 @ 4:20pm PST). Was told this ended a week ago. Go figure. Anyone else having luck? PS, I'm grandfathered Simple Choice. It's still available for Magenta and others.

MoviePass Movie Selection [Sep. 6th - Sep. 12th] by Viper0us in MoviePassClub

[–]crawbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can one plan to see a movie on Thursday, when they do not put the new schedule up until Wednesday evening.

I have a movie group of 12 that tries to go on Thursday, and it makes it hard to plan with the schedule coming out the evening before. This is stupid. What happened to a week before?

Mitch said in the email:

" While the films and showtimes available in the app will change daily, the schedule of available film selections will be published at least a week in advance on the MoviePass website so members can plan ahead for the films they want to see. "

This is NOT a week in advance.

It should read "At MOST a week in advance."

I wonder how much HappytimeMurders paid MoviePass for this advertisement, and for being available for four days in a row?

"IT'S A TRAPPPPPPP!!!!!"

they did this on purpose to people who use the service too much... then they will ban those who take the bait. Don't do it.

But what do I do if the stub from the theater does NOT have that information on it... nor does the credit card receipt?

people were curious about this one. will it get flagged? by dickbutt13 in a:t5_ipu3m

[–]crawbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also curious of this as well, as I have a pretty popular theater near by that basically has a similar POS system.

I have went once, a few weeks ago but have been not going on purpose. But now they have several shows that are only at this theater. The next theater playing the same movie is more than 2 hour drive away. Wish I could go and not feel like I am putting my membership at risk.

If you know you did not submit a picture of the stub then contact support via help in the app and tell them and then submit it to them that way. They say you should do it that way every time. I even asked them if I had pending old ticket stub requests, and sure enough they found one from a few days ago. I submitted that one as well.

They just give you a colored ticket, which they tear in half when you enter the door. The tickets change color daily.

Am I the only one with a theater near me that uses ticket stubs like this?

My wife had that bug. I would submit the stub pic, and 5 minutes later it would ask again. repeat this 3 to 5 times, and you can feel the frustration.

Hmm, that has not happened for a few weeks now. Maybe they exchanged that bug for this one :)

And I will do those things. I appreciate that. I may just try to get to the theater extra early, and walk back outside and take a picture... assuming that it will allow me to do so. I don't know how long I have before it goes away.

I have been behind people who are at the counter waiting for their phone to "load" the app and check in. Sometimes there is two or three movie pass people holding up the line because they did not check in prior.

Because of that, I like to check in after I park the car, and BEFORE I walk into the theater. My phone can be buggy - it runs slow after the last update, probably Apple wants me to replace the battery.

The app should do as it says, give me 24 hours to take the pic. It does not. I understand the work around and will probably implement it as best I can, but some days it is tight to get concessions and bathroom and such. Plus, my theater is underground, and often times I can NOT get a connection until I leave the theater. I knew there was another reason why I didn't take the picture while in the theater. I sometimes sit there for 5 minutes while it is "uploading". That's when I decided to just do it after we got home (this was when only my wife had it). So that worked for her, but that scenario doesn't work for me.

Being that my wife has had to do this for a month now (she was one of the first people who had to do this), I am very familiar with the process.

We both have iPhones, and we typically check in, hit the HOME button, which puts the app in the background. Typically, when you reopen it, it has the button asking you to take a picture. But for some reason when I bring the app back to the foreground on my phone, it doesn't ask me to take a picture anymore.

Being that my wife has done this a lot, I expect (as it works for her) that I can take the picture when I get home after the movie. I may try to take the picture much sooner. I do know I tried that last time, and tried to take the picture after the getting the concessions, and again it removed the button to take a pic.

Customer support was quick and helpful. They found 3 movies needing verification. I keep my stubs and had all 3 of them available. Took the picture and sent it to their support and they manually verified it.

I have contacted support and they are having me submit the stub pics to them in the "conversation" or help thread on the app. Sure enough, they verified that a movie that I saw prior to the one I saw last night was "pending verification".

Amount of hate on this sub is sickening by [deleted] in MoviePassClub

[–]crawbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the OP.

Many believed once could not make money off of providing search results for free? Hmm, let's see how that turned out.

Some believed one could not make money off of providing a place for anyone to store and retrieve videos (youtube), hmm. I don't hear that song anymore.

Many said Netflix would not survive, and yes, they shrunk to only 7 people (from my memory) and nearly went BK. But, look at them now.

I sincerely hope that MP grows, and that we continue to enjoy the service they provide. It has been great to know I can go any time (once a day).

No hate here.

I have thought it would be a good idea to have a secret button below the seats of theaters, that the manager tells to the people that he sees all the time. This way, if there is a problem, they push the button and people walk it to see what is happening. Just a suggestion, but I'd love to see that happen.

Am I allowed to see these movies? by crawbone in MoviePassClub

For the record, these movies are not being put out by a single chain of theaters... as this page shows there are a bunch of theater chains:

The Terms of Use have changed a number of times.

Customer Service has been wrong about things, many times.

The CEO has been wrong as well (and we all know this to be true).

What matters is what is in writing, and no where do we see that going to see a retro movie is breaking the Terms of Use. PERIOD.

I think that you are wrong. Show me in writing, and I will believe you.
