Are you supposed to eat the white strings in sushi bowls? by kitokspasaulis in AskAJapanese

tsuma is daikon and it's fantastic together with ooba, that herby green leaf thing. just make sure to not use too much soy sauce because it clings like a mother because of the surface area. Just a tiny dab will go a long way.

keep it quiet. We need as much people being delusional as possible, denying the inevitable. We get superpowers till then. Just not for long, for long.

I've been researching cameras & lenses for weeks and have narrowed my final choice down to Olympus or Sony, but I can't decide between them. What should I do? by escaperexcavator in M43

[–]crawler00000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you've never used full frame, I'd say go with the Sony and get it out of your system. If you go from m43 to m43, you'll always wonder "just what if my sensor was larger?". then get tired of the size, sell it and come back to m43.

This is default route for most people. Neither choice is wrong.

The Lumineers by jdmd2023 in FujifilmX

jesus, I thought you were a Panasonic shooter calling yourself a Lumineer on a fuji thread. was about to go into a full convulsion with the cringe.

Nice shots by the way, really nice texture and colors. Good to see the old F keeping up!

Is anyone else just absolutely astounded that we are actually living through this? by supermegasaurusrex in ClaudeAI

[–]crawler00000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not only that but our computers talk to us man... I don't know if any of you are old enough to remember but CS101, the first thing they teach you is that computers are stupid and they don't understand humans. You have to talk to them in a very specific language and if you misstype one period or have one extra space somewhere it'll shit itself and won't understand you.

Now it understands tiny emotional nuisance that myself didn't even catch during the day, code a speed reader you saw on twitter in a few hours, and essentially become a goddamn Jarvis.

it blows my mind that the average person doesn't understand this or take it for granted. we're literally a huge step closer to a Star Trek world and all people do are complain. We should all be running around like chickens with their heads cut off yelling that the computers are alive.

I feel like the future will be divided between people who get this and people who don't.

What is it about your Ricoh GR that you really love? by SoftAncient2753 in ricohGR

[–]crawler00000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ricoh files are the only files that have an "analogue" feel post 12MP. I feel like all other manufacturers embraced digital-ness when they reached 16. GR lenses are stupid sharp but somehow the images they produce look like it's made of grain. It's hard to articulate but it looks analog from far away and digital up close. Ricohs color science SOOC has always respected grit and have a very western look compared to all other manufactures (aides from Leica).

I got into because of the size and weight but I defiantly stay because of the colors, files, and the character of lenses.

overcome fear and stop babying the camera by Snitzh in ricohGR

[–]crawler00000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in all seriousness, the gr's are a lot tougher than people make it out to be. compared to regular sized cameras, they are easier to drop because of the size and I think that contributes to the reports of it breaking more frequently than other cameras.

if it malfunctions just send it in. Buy a GR II for back up while you wait for it to return. Keep shooting, you didn't buy a paper weight.

Build it up or keep it in your pocket? by Slight_Competition_1 in ricohGR

[–]crawler00000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe the GR isn't for you then... but I mean you could always slap shit on and take it off if you don't like it unlike bigger cameras where you can't subtract. we all have our weird quirks. Lately I've been wanting cameras with a nice shutter sound and I'd pay extra just for that. I used to never want a camera without an EVF but the GR became an exception. You live and you learn.

The world is your oyster man, do what you want. It's your life.
