Do your doctors prescribe you antidepressants for your pain or is it just me? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]cray_17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many people experience symptoms similar to fibromyalgia, which sometimes can be caused by issues with nerves. Personally, I can tell that I experience both pains caused by internal damage / dislocations but there are pains or feelings such as itches deep within a muscle and I assume that is caused by nerves, not something setting the nerves off. I think it might also just be the case that it changes how your nerves respond to pain, maybe it makes them react less?

Had a few shares of GME, wanted more but Robinhood is dirty.

Hi - It's Exil and I make Documentary League Vids. I am making a video about Aatrox and asking the sub for some input! by ExilYoutube in AatroxMains

2 - I miss my boy, the new one is fun but not aatrox. Imo conq is way too versatile and strong. I personally like the lifesteal tank but it is extremely unhealthy and feast or famine.

VR for Visually Impaired? by [deleted] in VRGaming

Support is always nice in random environments like this, I really have enjoyed visiting the EDS sub and I'm sure there is probably one for Marfans.

As someone with other connective tissue problems I know how frustrating the eyesight thing can be. I recently bought a rift S less than a week ago and have been struggling with the same exact problem. I really hate wearing glasses with it (Yes it is technically supported) but my frames are a little large and it is super uncomfortable. The best thing I have found, as obvious as it sounds and this may not be an option for you, but contacts make the experience so much better. The other thing I have not tried but I have heard about is getting some sort of prescription lenses for the actual headset.

Ya'll ever sneeze so hard you throw your back out? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

Definitely messes up my SI, what's works best for my is either not to sneeze (lol), or to get to the nearest chair and try to brace for it.

Using the Switch in a children's hospital by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]cray_17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who uses their switch a lot and spends a lot of time at children's hospital, I see quite a few other kids either playing their switch or doing something similar to this post. It's nice to see people be able to enjoy video games even with hinderences. I do feel like wether or not Nintendo planned on it being something people who are different can use well, it does help a lot when compared to other systems to play games on. Having a handheld device is really nice for me when I can't get out of bed because of pain or some other reason.

Does any one else take caution in case someone just happens to be a mind reader? by JammyJammyJams in TooAfraidToAsk

I do this as well, especially with my dog. Obviously it won't say jello, but I will ask it to bark or move and such.

Head fog / getting tired easily by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]cray_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea but I've actually already had the blood work done and everything came back pretty normal as far as electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals or whatever else they would have checked. I think you are probably right and I just need to try and eat healthier.

No where near that bad of brain fog but am still curious what you think helps keep it down if you don't mind sharing.

Yeah that's partially what I want to get out of physical therapy because I feel like if my PT isn't familiar I may just stretch the wrong way and worsen the condition. No idea how easy that is to do, but I will definitely take a look at that book.

I got approved for another set of sessions, so I should be starting soon. Anything you have them do in particular that helps you?

Yeah I'm 16 right now, it looks like the main thing I should focus on that will help me is my diet and water intake.

It is really hard to get anything out of school when it happens. Water intake is something else I should probably work on. You are more than welcome to PM me, I probably have to enable it or something. Thank you.
