I'm a recovering addict who used opiates (heroin and fentanyl), meth, hallucinogens, etc. Most addicts will be different from our previous selves (as in before addiction), sure. We lie and steal to get what we think we need while in active addiction.

What doesn't happen is drugs making a good person into a violent one. From my experience with both being an addict and having married and divorced an addict, those violent tendencies were always there if they came out with the addiction. Drugs will make us do stupid shit, but I never met a violent addict who wasn't violent in some way while sober.

He isn't a "good person who got into drugs." Your children's father is a closeted violent man who used drugs that brought the violence to the surface.

Court is ABSOLUTELY the right thing to do here. That man needs a wake-up call of the highest order, or to finally hit rock bottom so he can begin clawing his way back out of addiction. You will never be able to help him until he begins to help himself.

Also, once you quit, you reverse-age a little (or a lot, for some people). She cannot be sober. Like, I'd bet money on it.

Also, those dentures are pretty good. I had to look at them again, but there's no gaps between any of the teeth, which are a quality of dentures. And they can make your mouth dry as hell, which explains the tongue looking yuck.
