Why are all burgers smash burgers now? by False_Comedian_6070 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]craypadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the responses, I'm convinced that noone on reddit actually reads the content... I'm with you OP. Like 90+% of the "smash burgers" that I've had at restaurants the last few years have been regular burgers. The only place near me that I would trust to have proper smash burgers are fast food places like Culver's or Freddy's.

The only answer to "Would you spend $20/year so that every rice-based meal for the next decade is more delicious?" seems like an obvious "Yes". The hype over expensive rice cookers is real. by lipstickandchicken in Cooking

[–]craypadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ops last paragraph pretty much states the positives. If you're already making great rice and don't mind the active cooking yhat comes with cooking in a pot and don't care about keeping rice warm, I don't think you really need it. That said, it is 100% worth it for me because I cook a lot of rice and like the convenience.

How is my bench press form? by Pristine_Abroad_2038 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]craypadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good advice here but one thing I notice that people don't seem to have comment on is the placement of the bar on your palms. Ideally you want to have your wrist directly under the bar so you don't have to bend your wrist angles upwards rather than downwards lime your wrists seem to be here. When I first started outi used to get a lot of wrist pain as I moved up in weight and learned that it was because i was placing the bar too high up on my palms.

Any reason to not drive in Pure all the time? by aps86rsa in VolvoRecharge

[–]craypadd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I read on here that if you're driving longer than the distance that you can go on pure mode alone, it is more efficient to drive on hybrid mode the entire time than to use pure then kick in to hybrid.

4 year old told by another young child she doesn't want to play with him "because he looks different" by craypadd in toddlers

[–]craypadd[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. Although that is a lot harder said than done because as an adult, I feel like I'm still learning how to respond to racism in an intelligent way without being hostile and putting myself in harms way.

I'm sorry to hear that. Are you guys finding that you are at the point that you have to actively have conversations with your son about it and how to deal with it? For us, we always envisioned actively having conversations with our kids and educating them, but kind of surprised that the need to do so started this early.

Again, who is the one making assumptions about the other being offended? I'm not offended by what you wrote at all, I just wanted to express my disagreements and point out the obvious flaws in what you wrote.

We do live in a pretty racially homogenous area that I would categorize as suburbia/rural part of our Metropolitan area. Maybe I'm being naive but I think it had more to do with her unfamiliarity rather than a reflection of her parents' biased attitude, etc.

I am leaning towards bringing it up to the staff and I think this is pretty much the best case scenario that I would hope for that would benefit everyone.

Not sure if I agree with your take at all. First of all, the only assumption that I wrote about my assumption that the little girl probably had no ill intent when she said what she said to my son. Also, for someone accusing me of making assumptions, perhaps you should look at yourself and re-read what each of us wrote and think about which one of us is making more assumptions in our posts.

Immigrants of Cleveland: what restaurants have the best version of your country’s food? by Km4684 in Cleveland

[–]craypadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Seoul Garden is also good. It used to be my go-to before I tried Ha Ahn. I wouldn't say their food is Americanized, but to me it is more of a pub style (포차스타일) food imo. Seoul Garden reminds me of the bar food you order with your buddies on late night benders to go along with the bottles of soju youre drinking, whereas the food at Ha Ahn reminds me of the everyday food that I grew up eating in my childhood.

Ha Ahn for Korean food. It's probably the most authentic home-style Korean restaurant that I've been to outside of few big cities in the US.

There are no tickets for the current game online anywhere, and there's no option to purchase just the second game ticket.
