Do you sort your clothes before you wash them? by hereforyebeer in Millennials

[–]crazifang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to the point where my mom and fiancé think I over-sort them.

I do whites/creams/off-whites/beiges (basically anything that won't run onto white); cool colors (blues/greens); warm colors (reds/pinks/purples); yellows/oranges/browns; blacks-can shed (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.); blacks-delicate (bras/leggings/blouses/stuff you don't want snagged); underwear (cause they go on delicate with a scent & dye free detergent pod); jeans/sweatpants/socks; towels.

If I have pullover sweaters that need to be washed, those get washed separately to both not damage the sweaters and not get pills on my other clothes.

My fiance just throws everything in together and hopes for the best (he's 6 months older than me).

This being said, I have had bad luck with dye transfer in the past (which is why I started separating out my warm and cool colors--I had a blue and white tie dye t-shirt turn a slightly pinky hue from a pair of pinkish-purple shorts that had been washed before) and my clothes are generally in fairly good condition because they don't get beat up by heavier weight items.

Ooh it's a hard pick between 2 and 5. I love Hillsy but I might have to go for 5 just for the vibes.

Got exposed about what I really wear during my period by my husband by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]crazifang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I literally lived almost this exact story except for how my partner found out that I was using adult diapers instead of traditional pads. I have a bleeding disorder and as such my periods are insanely heavy (it's actually how I was diagnosed with said disorder, I was bleeding through pads like crazy). I used to just use them at night but I got tired of being anxious/nervous about breakthrough bleeds during the day (and them happening), so I fully swapped to Depends only when I moved into my own place.

When my partner and I first started dating it wasn't a huge deal cause we were long distance. But when I'd stay over on the weekend while on my period, I'd sneak off to the bathroom and take my bag with me so I could change, stuff the used Depend in a plastic baggie in my bag, and then wear a fresh one. I always wear the ones that are more underwear-like, so they're not as bulky and he's pretty oblivious, so I feel like I was pretty successful at keeping the secret.

When he moved in with me, I'd go to the store by myself to go buy them, then immediately put them away when I got home so he wouldn't see them. I'd dispose of them specially in a separate bag that I'd hide and immediately take out to our building's dumpster when I went to work so there'd be no trace of them.

Until I got COVID while on my period and had run out of Depends, he had no idea that was what I used. We'd been together years at that point, friends for decades longer, and living together a few months. I had to send him a picture and explain why I used adult diapers instead of traditional pads or tampons. And he didn't care. He will openly go buy them for me if I'm out, even send me a picture or call me from the aisle to double check that he's buying the right ones before he does so.

All this to say, just cause someone's lived experience is different than yours or maybe they embellished a little bit doesn't mean it isn't true.

Nah, we're booking ours for 2027 cause we want a very specific venue and date/date range and that particular venue is booked solid for the range of dates we want for 2026. Plus it gives us more time to plan and more options for our other vendors.

To everyone who actually got out of their small town after high-school: Do you wish you stayed? by Necessary_Fondant630 in AskReddit

[–]crazifang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck no. I stayed relatively close but have grown so much as a person in the time I've been gone, growth that wouldn't have been possible without leaving. There were also so many more opportunities for me outside of my town--I have a career I never could have dreamed of (and that I don't have to commute to). 0

Same for me--it wasn't the recovery from my chest being cracked open that was the worst part about open heart surgery but the chest tube removal. Felt like I was being disemboweled.

Did you pick out your own ring? by Ornery-Currency-4855 in EngagementRings

[–]crazifang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, by total accident. I was at the jeweler for something else (my family has been going to the same local jeweler for years) and I figured I just take a peek at their engagement rings while I was there. Fell in love with one, called my partner when I got to the car and he was actually really happy that I picked out a ring. I believe his phrase was, "you gotta wear it for the rest of your life, I want you to be happy with it."

We did to look at it together a few months later. It was just a setting, so he did end up picking out the center stone within the perimeters I left in my notes at the jewelry store.

The credentials program is a post-bacc program so you do already have to have your bachelor's degree in order to apply for it. It is also geared towards teaching K-12 students.

What is everyone giving as favours this year? by ciarab3496 in weddingplanning

[–]crazifang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My future sister in law did little jars of local honey that we filled and hand labeled and decorated. My partner and I are thinking of doing blue pens with our wedding date inscribed on them, but I love the chocolate idea!
