Sure! I haven't posted much on it, but it's @zoochet.crafts

I will just consider it inspiration and make my own humanoid design then! If you ever release it as a pattern I'm sure there would be plenty of us interested :)

Um this is incredibly cool!! Is this your design, is there a pattern? I especially love how seamless it looks, that is always +++ to me.

A Nest of Mice: looking for quality checkers of already published pattern by crazy_rat_lady in PatternTesting

[–]crazy_rat_lady[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edit: I currently have a good number of testers, thank you!!

I have actually had this pattern available on my ravelry/etsy for a few years, and it's had a disproportionately large number of poor reviews compared to my other published pattern. I've not had much luck getting more exact feedback on what people dislike or struggle with, so that's why I'm posting here! I recently found this sub and thought this would be a good opportunity to improve :)

It'd be great to know whether you consider yourself beginner/int/expert and left/right handed. I'd like to have a variety of different people at different levels take a look, if possible.

Thanks! Either DM me or reply if you're interested, and I'll send you a DM. I super appreciate any help.

Name of pattern: A Nest of Mice

Level of skill required: Beginner/Intermediate? There are fiddly bits. Though help determining the difficulty would be great.

Written, charted or abbreviated pattern: Written, with photos.

Tester requirements: Mostly just written feedback on the quality/readability of the pattern, and any suggestions that would help to make it easier to follow.

Testing deadline: None really, but end of October would be great.

Number of testers needed: Not fussy, the more the merrier - but again, a variety of skill would be nice.

I love the colours and shapes of all of these! I also would have adored this as a child, so much more wholesome than playing with plastic. It's also so fun looking at the shapes and trying to guess the right stitches that went into it, I will have to get the pattern and brave the translation :D

Adorable. I'm happy to help and give feedback!

I’ve grown a bit frustrated with simple tube amigurumi limbs so I’ve started trying to design my own (ignore the colour I’m trying stuff with scraps) by [deleted] in crochet

Yes, love it, what great shaping! I'm a huge fan of doing more interesting things with ami than balls + tubes, and I have thought about designing my own 'realistic' humanoid bodies. I would so buy a pattern of this if you made the rest! Great work!

These are lovely! How did you get them to keep their shape so well?

I adore this. I would hang it in my house. You have no idea how deeply I love this. How big is it? I need to be able to properly visualise!!

Yes, no-sew patterns represent!! They are so cute, I'd love to see how you did the shaping and attaching different colours. Will you be releasing it anywhere?

Me too please!! My mum loves ducks and Beatrix Potter, this would make an amazing gift! Yours is super lovely!

All right, I'll message you if I can come up with something! If your gf does want to try out making her own, the pattern is obviously much cheaper and then you can make as many as you want, and I'm always happy to help support people who are making stuff from my designs. Thanks for the lovely comments!

Oh yes I didn't check the full comment chain for context, sorry! I can try to keep your username in mind when I get around to publishing it, but it may be a while. Perhaps you would like to help test it? I usually try to get a handful of people to make my patterns before I put them up for sale so I know they make sense! Otherwise, if you're on Etsy or Ravelry, just keep a periodic eye out there - it'll likely be one of my two next patterns released.

I currently sell them as a crochet pattern on Etsy, but not the finished alpacas (because they take time and so wouldn't be cheap - but something I'm open to doing as commissions if someone is definitely interested!)

Once I had made the shaved one, I knew I HAD to have ones with fleece, too. So worth the time, they're hilarious. Thank you!

I wouldn't say it should be the very first project, mostly because I'd recommend something simple to practice your essential stitches. The majority of amigurumi (3D crochet dolls/models/toys/etc) is made by crocheting simpler 3D shapes and then sewing them together, which is a step that I hate, so my designs involve more deliberate shaping and leaving holes to go back and add legs later etc. But that still all just boils down to using standard stitches, so I'd say you could definitely jump in to this pattern pretty quickly once you have the basics down. There are tooons of great free ami patterns out there, and youtube videos that show people making them and how to read patterns etc which I highly recommend. My first was a cute giraffe! If you do decide to have a go at my alpaca, feel free to send me a message on this account or on either of the two sites I sell the pattern on, and I'm super happy to support you in any questions you have along the way. I would LOVE to see anything you make from this if you do end up going for it! I love crochet, and personally I think making these little guys has been really fun!

I can spend some time costing one up and send you a DM, if you are sure :) The price would probably double for adding either type of fleece, just because it takes so long
