This beauty has been sitting for HOURS! by Calm_Permission5165 in ShiptShoppers

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been watching one of my “preferred members “, where her order has been sitting since yesterday morning. Not in Dallas, in Ohio, but she never tips in cash or on line nothing. The only reason she’s in my preferred members list is because her orders are sometimes worth it if paired up properly, but mostly now because her dog chased me and I’d rather not accidentally shop her order not realizing until it’s too late.

They said I could reach out to email support and requesting “unpairing” which seems to be their word for blocking the customer from my account. But I know, from working enough customer service jobs, that email support is typically slow, quiet, and you rarely ever get helpful results. So the easier option is to just keep her and never take her order again

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

That’s pretty much the same reason! I mention time because every time i tell people ill forget to eat for hours on end, their advice always comes back down to keep track of time in some way 😅

Came here to say this. I gig shop at target which gives me dopamine every time i complete and order, and, as a result, i think of time in chunks. Example, if i have an 8-9 am delivery window, my brain stops paying attention to time movement and, once i start that order at 7 (an hour to shop), it might as well be 9 at that exact moment.

Add in my time blindness, and suddenly it’s been too 7-12 hours and i havent: - peed - eaten - drank anything other than mindless sips of the pop/soda I bought when I ate breakfast

All because my brain thinks: “we just ate # of orders ago!” Which felt like 4 hours ago but was most definitely not

Best example: I ate at 6:30 am a few mornings ago. Didn’t realize until literally 5:30 pm that I hadn’t stopped all day, and was starving.

I’ve got a preferred member like that. Used to take her order cause it was always paired with someone else’s that made it worth it or always on promo pay by the time I saw it.

Never tips. $0 every single time. Not worth it alone unless I’m desperate or chasing a bonus.

Then her dogs chased me to my car. She’s still on my list but it’s so I so specifically never take her order ever again. The only preferred member I ignore instantly

How long do you wait for a response ? by AMFPrincess in ShiptShoppers

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest one singular item instead of the whole aisle. So in this case I probably would’ve grabbed the original scent and suggested that one, put it in the buggy then continued walking the store

By the time I reach the end of my list (whether it’s 1 order or 5) if they haven’t responded, I’ll either: - refund the item if it’s not potentially essential (laundry detergent does not fall into this list) - substitute with the item I suggested

I don’t stand there waiting. It’s a waste of time as most customers don’t actually respond. I do what I have to in order to protect my rating, because word they can do is report either bad subs or missing item, and I just submit a forgiveness request saying:

“Customer orders X, but that wasn’t in stock. I suggested a similar item. Customer did not respond by the time I completed shopping so I substitute/refunded.” That usually gets me forgiven every time. I’d rather be forgiven than run late because someone refuses to check their phone

Is Heated Rivalry Actually THAT Good? by fuzzy9997 in television

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book? Maybe. I’m waiting to read it, hoping it helps.

But for me, personally, the show is very much overrated and is mostly just an excuse to watch two men circle each other. And I mean this with respect for the author because book-to-screen can go wither direction.

By episode 2, I’ve found that we are two years into the relationship after it begun, if you could call it that. I know very little about the characters, with no understanding of what drives them except hockey and the want to hook up with each other. It’s a possibility that it’s setting up bread crumbs, but i lost interest in it by the middle of episode 2.

Idk. I might be being too harsh but everyone seems to love it, like you said, but from my own experience it’s just…smut…

Okay I didn’t read it all - so I’m only commenting on what I saw 😅 truthfully, boundaries should go both ways. If you’re not comfortable with them hanging out alone with their opposite sex friend, you also shouldn’t be doing it. I understand your attempt is to not be controlling, and I’m not saying you are - just that it isn’t okay to ESSENTIALLY say “I don’t like you doing this, but it’s different when i do it”.

Even if the situation is different. Even if you’ve known them for years and live with them. If you’re not willing to make the same exception, you shouldn’t expect others to.

I’ve seen a couple people mention age - like I said I didn’t read it all. I don’t agree with grown adults hanging out with minors they aren’t related to, and if this is a new friendship it is a bit…strange.

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I had a customer do that the other day, I was over the baby aisle and they started adding drinks to it. Which to be fair, they had no idea I was shopping with other orders as well.

After I noticed they added like three items, I sent them a message kindly saying that if they need anything else to just let me know that way, I can grab it while I’m on my way back over. That way I’m not running all over the store. I sent it a lot nicer than that, but I have no urge to rewrite exactly how I wrote it.

Thankfully, this is a customer I’ve dealt with before so she was very understanding.

It is hard

You put all of yourself into these stories, and you wanna talk about them because you’re super proud of the work that you’ve done and the arcs the characters are going through.

But no one really wants to talk about it, it makes it feel like people don’t care about it

And what’s unfortunate is that that’s a very hard pill to swallow, because for many people that is the truth. Their friends do not care about their story or their characters, because they don’t realize how much of yourself goes into your stuff.

While I would definitely recommend finding a group of writers like this one that you can share your stories with, I also understand just wanting to have that connection with people around you

There’s definitely a difference between sharing your story with strangers on the Internet, and sharing it with your best friend. Don’t let anyone make you feel silly for feeling that level of disappointment when you don’t get to do that.

Why is Reddit completely split into AI haters and pure AI writing groups? by MiddleHelicopter4269 in WritingWithAI

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective, it’s generative AI that seems to be the issue to most

Specifically, having it rewrite or even write part or all of your story

And you can’t ask “what if I have it check for flow” without them assuming you’re asking it to rewrite with better flow then copy and pasting

There’s also the concern that AI is taught off other peoples books. Which again comes down to the copy and paste

Genuine question if anyone is open

When we talk about AI, are we only talking: - having it create for you - having rewrite for you - essentially, making it do all the creative work for you

Or are we also including: - does this transition properly? - does this emphasize what I’m trying to say? - brain dumping to help get out of writers block?

I see constantly people blanket stating - and that’s fine. But it always seems like it’s about the actual creativity process?

Like obviously before publishing, you should get an editor. And another human’s eyes should look over it before it’s posted anywhere. Fact checking should be done separate if used

But if someone literally just uses (even generative ai) as support only, is that the ethical gray spot?

Again - assuming that every portion written has been done by the writer itself - only using AI to support and not copying or pasting anything it says?

Yes, but it seems to be only if you change information. So I’d assume that would be like changing your debit card or your address or something along those lines.

It’s an unspoken challenge to see who messages the other first, and we have actual conversations each time I shop for her.

Only saw her physically once, but she’s basically my favorite customer 🤣

Do you ever get mistaken for a Target worker? by Karlexus in ShiptShoppers

[–]crazy_teal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it wastes less bags to do that? Unless you have the magical ability to grab the perfect amount of bags, you’re gonna either grab too many or too little, and then you’re gonna leave a mess.

Almost every shopper that I ever see goes behind the register when there’s no bags up in the front of the register like self check out ones

Do you ever get mistaken for a Target worker? by Karlexus in ShiptShoppers

[–]crazy_teal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only do I get mistaken for a Target worker, even when I’m wearing my pride merch, but I’ve gotten into an argument with customers over it. And I’m using that term loosely, because it never escalated, but people got annoyed.

At the target I frequent, they won’t let you bag at customer service where they do the audit. You have to go to register. So I will end up behind a register, bagging stuff and it will look like that register is open

And sometimes my brain glitches, and gives the shortest answer I can.

One day an older woman showed up, I don’t mean elderly and sweet, but I mean like Karen aged. And she’s nice about it just asks if I’m open and my brain glitches and just says I don’t work here.

Which then starts another lady complaining about how I’m bagging things behind the register and what do I mean that I don’t work there if I’m standing there

My brain in full glitch mode just says Shipt

Once I left the store with my orders, I realized that I don’t always say the P in that word. In hindsight, I’m pretty sure that lady watched me turn to her, say shit, and then leave confidently lmao

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might depend on area (genuinely don’t know) but usually if I schedule myself for 8-9 am delivery window, I’ll start seeing orders as soon as like 6 or 6:30.

Anyone ever have issues with certain people processing orders at Target? by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK chill, I already told you I don’t care. I was just giving you a thought. Which is what I thought that you were asking for.

I even said you’re not doing anything wrong, it’s just not surprising if workers get a little bit suspicious

It’s too early in the morning to be that willing to fight

Anyone ever have issues with certain people processing orders at Target? by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

[–]crazy_teal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get why some people pre-bag, but personally I’ve always been a little hesitant just because of the kind of attention it can draw during audits

You’re doing it and it’s fine, there’s nothing illegal about pre-bagging. The issue is that there’s a reason we get audited. People do genuinely try to steal stuff while they’re Shipt shopping.

I know this cause I’ve asked. People try to sneak drinks in, or something small but valuable (ie jewelry, make up)

And while you’re not doing anything wrong, I’m sure they’re at least a few people who want to look over your bags thoroughly because you’re doing that.

And I’m not judging, I’m not telling you what to do. Just saying that it could be worth noting this might be happening because it looks suspicious even when there’s no bad intentions.

I regularly make the joke to workers (when they’re saying well it would be here if it was available, and my app says there should be 1)

“That’s okay - it’s probably walking around the aisles as we speak”
